Patrick Henry, a Forgotten Argument, and the Necessity of Morality and Religion to a Free Society

*This article is a repost of the same article, by the same title, which I wrote for the Independent American Party of Utah on May 31, 2014. Though there are many things I would say differently or clarify were I to write it anew today, I have decided to keep it as-is.*

It is well known that Patrick Henry was among those who opposed the proposed Constitution in 1787. However, most do know know why Anti-Federalists like Henry opposed the new system. Anti-Federalists cited their belief that the Constitution “squints toward monarchy” or that it is foolish to think that a republic can be extended over a large territory. They criticized the provisions allowing for an army and thought the power of taxation could potentially be abused. Among the many reasons they gave for their opposition, however, one is often overlooked. Henry and others scoffed at the fact that the Framers were staking their whole experiment upon the goodness and morality of the People and upon the honesty of office holders in government. Henry believed this was a ludicrous idea, but others of the Founders proclaimed that only a moral and religious People were capable of Freedom and that an immoral and irreligious People would inevitably collapse under the weight of their own corruption.

Below is a lengthy quotation from an address by Patrick Henry wherein he discusses why he opposed the Constitution. In particular, this quotation highlights Henry’s incredulity towards the notion that our Constitution could only work if people were moral, honest and good. I will contrast Henry’s thoughts to those of other prominent Founders and then add some thoughts of my own regarding how this applies today:

“Where are your checks in this Government? Your strong holds will be in the hands of your enemies: It is on a supposition that our American Governors shall be honest, that all the good qualities of this Government are founded: But its defective, and imperfect construction, puts it in their power to perpetrate the worst mischiefs, should they be bad men. And, Sir, would not all the world, from the Eastern to the Western hemisphere, blame our distracted folly in resting our rights upon the contingency of our rulers being good or bad. Shew me the age and country where the rights and liberties of the people were placed on the sole chance of their rulers being good men, without a consequent loss of liberty? I say that the loss of that dearest privilege has ever followed with absolute certainty, every such mad attempt. If your American chief, be a man of ambition, and abilities, how easy is it for him to render himself absolute: The army is in his hands, and, if he be a man of address, it will be attached to him; and it will be the subject of long meditation with him to seize the first auspicious moment to accomplish his design; and, Sir, will the American spirit solely relieve you when this happens?” (Patrick Henry, June 7, 1788, “The Anti-Federalist Papers and the Constitutional Convention Debates,” Ralph Ketcham, ed., p. 214)

Patrick Henry is very clear that the only real check on government usurpation and tyranny that he can find in the Constitution is the goodness and honesty of its administrators, and the “spirit” of the American People. Peppered throughout Anti-Federalist arguments against the Constitution is the apprehension that the new system can only work if the People are virtuous and if their representatives are honest and unambitious. They were cynical and thought that history proved that people, and particularly their rulers, could not be virtuous. According to this view of mankind, such a Constitution as ours would be pointless because it could only lead to ruin.

Other Founders, however, believed that the American People in fact had the potential to break the historical cycle and create a Zion-like society. The book “The Majesty of God’s Law” by W. Cleon Skousen does a marvelous job of showing, through their own writings and quotations, how our Founders were anxious to found a Biblical society which they often called a “New Jerusalem” (Skousen, 24). So strong was this sentiment that Hebrew became a required language in some colleges and there was even a push to make Hebrew the official national language (Skousen, 23). But at any rate, many of the Founders believed that a moral and religious society was not only possible, but absolutely necessary.

On September 17, 1787, the day of the signing of the Constitution in Philadelphia, Benjamin Franklin anticipated many of the arguments that would be made against the Constitution. We would do well to review some of his comments on that occasion:

“I agree to this Constitution with all its faults, if they are such; because I think a general Government necessary for us, and there is no form of Government but what may be a blessing to the people if well administered, and I believe farther that this is likely to be well administered for a course of years, and can only end in Despotism, as other forms have done before it, when the people become so corrupted as to need despotic Government, being incapable of any other . . . Much of the strength and efficiency of any Government in producing and securing happiness to the people, depends, on opinion, on the general opinion of the goodness of the Government, as well as of the wisdom and integrity of its Governors.”

Benjamin Franklin wisely observed from history that when the People become corrupt and decadent and immoral, their governments become despotic. Therefore, said he, no system of government can survive unless the People are good. Consequently, Franklin and his fellow Framers were staking the success of the Constitution on the People being good. They hoped that America could become something different, something unique – a shining city on a hill. Henry and several of his fellow opponents to the Constitution thought this was madness. Yet, it seems to be the prevailing view among our Founders that morality and religion are indispensable to Freedom. In his memorable Farewell address in 1796, George Washington declared: “Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports. In vain would that man claim the tribute of patriotism who should labor to subvert these great pillars of human happiness, these firmest props of the duties of man and citizens. The mere politician, equally with the pious man, ought to respect and to cherish them.” Indispensable is a strong word, yet the Father of Our Country was definitive in his view that morality and religion were absolutely essential to free government.

In that same address, Washington firmly stated: “And let us with caution indulge the supposition that morality can be maintained without religion. Whatever may be conceded to the influence of refined education on minds of peculiar structure, reason and experience both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principle . . . It is substantially true, that virtue or morality is a

necessary spring of popular government. The rule, indeed, extends with more or less force to every species of free government. Who, that is a sincere friend to it, can look with indifference upon attempts to shake the foundation of the fabric?” Only the most ignorant of history can conclude that morality and religion are not essential to free society.

Signer of the Declaration of Independence, Charles Carroll, flatly stated: “Without morals a republic cannot subsist any length of time; they therefore who are decrying the Christian religion, whose morality is so sublime & pure, which denounces against the wicked eternal misery, and insured to the good eternal happiness, are undermining the solid foundation of morals, the best security for the duration of free governments” (Charles Carroll to James McHenry, November 4, 1800).

Like Carroll, John Adams bluntly said: “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other” (John Adams to the Officers of the First Brigade of the Third Division of the Militia of Massachusetts, October 11, 1798). There is no misunderstanding Adams – morality and religion were absolute necessities to free society in his view. And, furthermore, the Constitution was calculated to compliment just such a society.

John Adams’ cousin Samuel Adams, the Father of the American Revolution, was even more dire in his predictions of what would befall an immoral People. He wrote: “He who is void of virtuous Attachments in private Life is, or very soon will be, void of all Regard for his Country. There is seldom an Instance of a Man guilty of betraying his Country, who had not before lost the Feeling of moral Obligations in his private Connections . . . No People will tamely surrender their Liberties, nor can any be easily subdued, when Knowledge is diffusd and Virtue is preservd. On the Contrary, when People are universally ignorant, and debauchd in their Manners, they will sink under their own Weight without the Aid of foreign Invaders” (Samuel Adams to James Warren, November 4, 1775). Think of how many individuals have betrayed their country in our generation alone! In every case, we can point to their lack of character and morals. And, tragically, it is self-evident that America is sinking under her own weight of corruption, just as Adams predicted.

John Witherspoon was also convinced that morality was necessary to our national survival. He wrote: “Nothing is more certain than that a general profligacy and corruption of manners make a people ripe for destruction. A good form of government may hold the rotten materials together for some time, but beyond a certain pitch, even the best constitution will be ineffectual, and slavery must ensue. On the other hand, when the manners of a nation are pure, when true religion and internal principles maintain their vigor, the attempts of the most powerful enemies to oppress them are commonly baffled and disappointed” (John Witherspoon, “The Dominion of Providence over the Passions of Man,” May 17, 1776). Indeed, nothing is more certain nor more proven by history.

Finally, I quote once more from the illustrious George Washington. Said he, “Religion and morality are the essential pillars of civil society” (George Washington to the Clergy of Philadelphia, March 3, 1797). Long ago I adopted the similar term “pillars of free society” to describe morality and religion. I believe them so very important to our existence as a free country. I believe the wholesale violation of the eternal laws of right and wrong, or morality, or basic human decency, and of true religion will be America’s final undoing if we persist on this path.

Unless we repent as a People, we will collapse, crumble, and fall as every empire of the past has done. We will be hated by posterity for not salvaging this, the greatest, freest, most prosperous nation in the history of the world. Unfortunately, the seeds of our destruction were sown well over a century ago, with multiple generations carefully cultivating them. And now we are reaping the horrid harvest by perpetuating this moral corruption. This country may not last long enough to see another generation before America sits in ruins and is but a painful memory of what could have been had we the integrity and sense to humble ourselves before our Creator and simply follow His eternal laws of justice, truth, goodness, and happiness.

America might not be salvageable, but individuals certainly are. A remnant of God-fearing, humble, moral, decent individuals will always be preserved no matter which path society as a whole chooses. We must make it our job to be among that group and to enlist as many people as we can into our ranks. A “tireless minority,” as Samuel Adams said, will eventually prevail and the brushfires of Freedom will spread over the face of the globe. If we stand on God’s side and follow the eternal laws of morality, nothing can shake us.

Study the Constitution

Do we comprehend how blessed we are because we have the Constitution as our system of government? The federal Constitution of the United States is the most inspired work ever created by human wisdom. Indeed, it was not created by human wisdom at all, but was inspired by the Lord through noble, wise, and worthy men who loved by the Lord and the Liberty wherewith He had made them free. This Constitution Day, a long-neglected holiday by ungrateful and unthinking Americans, I plead for you to show gratitude to our inspired national charter of rights, to the men who fought and labored for it, and to the Lord Jesus Christ who blessed us with its bounties.

It must be admitted that America in 2025 is a vastly different place than it was in 1789 when George Washington became the first President of these United States. Not only have technology and social norms evolved, but our understanding of republicanism has evolved. Sadly, our comprehension of republicanism, federalism, constitutionalism, and sound governmental principles has lapsed. The average American knows practically nothing about the Constitution – most have never read it and wouldn’t understand it if they did. America is also a less free place in 2025 than it was in 1789.

Some balk at the idea that we are a less free nation now than in the past. What about slavery? What about women’s rights? What about this or that or whatever ideological talking point you remember from your government education? Even though slavery has been formally abolished, for U.S. citizens, Liberty has in fact decreased. A very quick overview looks like this: Government has ballooned in size (starting primarily with Abraham Lincoln), an unelected bureaucracy reigns regardless of changes in administration, intelligence agencies spy on everyone and collect our data without warrant or just cause, the Federal Reserve and Congress have utterly destroyed the purchasing power of the dollar while racking up unheard of debt totaling $37.5 trillion as of this writing, free speech is under withering attack and socialistic “hate speech” laws plague us, all fifty states have gun laws in blatant disregard of the Second Amendment, crime so often goes unpunished by corrupt judges and district attorneys, private property is being seized left and right by federal and state agencies, and we are being nickled and dimed to death by insane fees and taxes far exceeding those that enraged our forefathers and caused them to rebel against the tyrannical British. The list could go on and on. The fact is that the U.S. Constitution is hanging by a brittle thread and the Republic, which functions more like an empire, is on the blink of collapse.

Why have we fallen so precipitously? The prophetic patriot Ezra Taft Benson told us exactly how we would fall in 1968:

“I do not believe the greatest threat to our future is from bombs or guided missiles. I do not think our civilization will die that way. I think it will die when we no longer care, when the spiritual forces that make us wish to be right and noble die in the hearts of men, when we disregard the importance of law and order.

“If American freedom is lost, if America is destroyed, if our blood-bought freedom is surrendered, it will be because of Americans. What’s more, it will probably not be only the work of subversive and criminal Americans. The Benedict Arnolds will not be the only ones to forfeit our freedom. . . .

“If America is destroyed, it may be by Americans who salute the flag, sing the national anthem, march in patriotic parades, cheer Fourth of July speakers–normally good Americans, but Americans who fail to comprehend what is required to keep our country strong and free – Americans who have been lulled away into a false security.

“Great nations are never conquered from outside unless they are rotten inside. Our greatest national problem today is erosion, not the erosion of the soil, but erosion of the national morality – erosion of traditional enforcement of law and order.

“In this blessed land we have exalted security, comfort, and ease above freedom. If we dwelled at length on the many things that are disturbing in the life of America today, we might well become discouraged. I mention only a few of the reported startling evidences of our national illness, our moral erosion.

“There is a decline of U.S. morals and moral fiber, a turning to pleasure and away from hard work and high standards of the past. . . .

“America is the biggest market for narcotics.

“Although we consider ourselves a people who believe in law and order, we have seen much evidence of the passion of the mob. . . .

“The sky-rocketing cost of the welfare state. . . .

“Inflation has struck a serious blow to the value of the American dollar.

“We continue to move in the direction of more federal intervention, more concentration of power, more spending, more taxing, more paternalism, more state-ism. . . .

“The facts are clear. Our problem centers in Washington, D.C. And this applies to the administration of both political parties. In the words of James Madison, “Since the general civilization of mankind, I believe there are more instances of the abridgment of freedom of the people by gradual and silent encroachments of those in power, than by violent and sudden usurpations.” (Elliot’s Debates, Vol. 3, p. 87.)

“If America is to withstand these influences and trends, there must be a renewal of the spirit of our forefathers, an appreciation of the American way of life, a strengthening of muscle and sinew and the character of the nation. America needs guts as well as guns. National character is the core of national defense.”

Benson was correct. Our biggest problems – and we have many – are our immorality and apathy. We are shockingly complacent. As our national house burns down around us, we sit absentmindedly scrolling on social media. We perpetuate a cycle of pride, contention, sacrilege, hedonism, and both political and spiritual blindness. Most Christians are Christians-in-name-only but do not follow the teachings of the Savior of the world. They certainly do not follow His laws governing morality and sexual relations. We have become a nation of porn-addicted, degenerate, self-centered pleasure-seekers instead of seekers of God, goodness, and the general welfare.

Because we have abandoned the God of this land, who is Jesus Christ, He has left us to our own devices – or, if you will, to our own vices. These vices, apathy, and ignorance have been our undoing as we have allowed – usually by electing them – vipers and monsters into office at all levels of government. The Lord has given us what we deserve – and what we deserve is pedophiles, adulterers, liars, Satanists, and corrupt self-aggrandizers in our government. These wolves in sheep’s clothing come in two sizes – Republican and Democrat. Neither fights for the American People. The fact that so many conservatives still believe that the Republican Party is on their side is indicative of how low we have sunk as a nation. If we want to have moral, upright, and good people restored to offices in government, we must do what the Lord told the Israelites through His prophet Isaiah and repent. I quote the inspired words:

“Ah sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a seed of evildoers, children that are corrupters: they have forsaken the Lord, they have provoked the Holy One of Israel unto anger, they are gone away backward.

“Why should ye be stricken any more? ye will revolt more and more: the whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint.

“From the sole of the foot even unto the head there is no soundness in it; but wounds, and bruises, and putrifying sores: they have not been closed, neither bound up, neither mollified with ointment.

“Your country is desolate, your cities are burned with fire: your land, strangers devour it in your presence, and it is desolate, as overthrown by strangers.

“And the daughter of Zion is left as a cottage in a vineyard, as a lodge in a garden of cucumbers, as a besieged city.

“Except the Lord of hosts had left unto us a very small remnant, we should have been as Sodom, and we should have been like unto Gomorrah. . . .

“Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil;

“Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.

“Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

“If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:

“But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.

“How is the faithful city become an harlot! it was full of judgment; righteousness lodged in it; but now murderers.

“Thy silver is become dross, thy wine mixed with water:

“Thy princes are rebellious, and companions of thieves: every one loveth gifts, and followeth after rewards: they judge not the fatherless, neither doth the cause of the widow come unto them.

“Therefore saith the Lord, the Lord of hosts, the mighty One of Israel, Ah, I will ease me of mine adversaries, and avenge me of mine enemies:

“And I will turn my hand upon thee, and purely purge away thy dross, and take away all thy tin:

“And I will restore thy judges as at the first, and thy counsellors as at the beginning: afterward thou shalt be called, The city of righteousness, the faithful city.

“Zion shall be redeemed with judgment, and her converts with righteousness.

“And the destruction of the transgressors and of the sinners shall be together, and they that forsake the Lord shall be consumed.” (Isaiah 1:4-9, 16-28).

If you care about America, repent. Turn to the Redeemer Jesus Christ. Rid yourself of unworthiness and of the corruption and demoralizing taint of the world. The Savior stands with open arms ready to save. Everyone is welcome – none are forbidden to partake of His mercy. He bled in Gethsemane for your sins, suffered scourging, an unjust mock trial, and endured crucifixion as the great and last blood sacrifice, for you. No matter what you have done, you may repent. You cannot merely claim Jesus and think that cleanses you. It does not. Neither does deathbed repentance benefit you. Only a sincere, abiding repentance – that is, a turning away from evil and a turning to good – has the power to save you, cleanse you, and make you reborn sons and daughters of the Lord of lords. I repeat, if you love America, repent.

This Constitution Day, it is imperative to drink deeply from the wells of wisdom of our ancestors. Our forefathers were paragons of truth and political brilliance. In my studies of world history, I find no comparable group of men – men who understood so thoroughly the principles of Liberty, the dangers of tyranny, and the price required to both obtain and maintain Freedom. It is incumbent upon you to study our national documents – the Declaration of Independence and Constitution – and learn their holy and just principles.

James Wilson, one of the legal geniuses among the Founding Fathers, gave us important advice when he said that we cannot truly comprehend or love Liberty if we do not also comprehend and love law. We lie to ourselves if we claim to love Liberty but do not understand law – in our context, if we do not understand the Constitution. Wilson recommended that we all study the science of law through which we gain Liberty. He observed:

“Were I called upon for my reasons why I deem so highly of the American character, I would assign them in a very few words—That character has been eminently distinguished by the love of liberty, and the love of law. . . .

“In free countries—in free countries, especially, that boast the blessing of a common law, springing warm and spontaneous from the manners of the people—Law should be studied and taught as a historical science. . . .

“. . . Before we can be distinguished by the same honours [as illustrious men like Benjamin Franklin], we must be distinguished by the same virtues.

“What are those virtues? They are chiefly the same virtues, which we have already seen to be descriptive of the American character—the love of liberty, and the love of law. But law and liberty cannot rationally become the objects of our love, unless they first become the objects of our knowledge. The same course of study, properly directed, will lead us to the knowledge of both. Indeed, neither of them can be known, because neither of them can exist, without the other. Without liberty, law loses its nature and its name, and becomes oppression. Without law, liberty also loses its nature and its name, and becomes licentiousness. In denominating, therefore, that science, by which the knowledge of both is acquired, it is unnecessary to preserve, in terms, the distinction between them. That science may be named, as it has been named, the science of law.

“The science of law should, in some measure, and in some degree, be the study of every free citizen, and of every free man. Every free citizen and every free man has duties to perform and rights to claim. Unless, in some measure, and in some degree, he knows those duties and those rights, he can never act a just and an independent part.”

If we want to regain the same level of Liberty our forefathers enjoyed, we must love and study law as they did. We must study the workings of our federal Constitution. We must study the principles of the Declaration of Independence. We must know what are our God-given rights and what are the responsibilities and delegates powers of government. We must become truly engaged patriots, not merely sunshine or armchair patriots.

As I said before, if you truly love America, repent. If you have not read the Constitution, acknowledge your fault, repent, and read it. If you are a parent, read it together with your spouse and children. Study it. Inculcate the principles into your children. Live them and hold your elected representatives accountable to that which they hypocritically swear an oath every two, four, or six years. There are many marvelous resources for comprehending the principles therein written if you do not trust in your own native reasoning ability.

However you choose to study and learn the Constitution, learn it. Internalize it. Live it. Freedom was purchased with blood. It may require blood to fully restore. But Liberty is worth it. The alternative – high-tech feudalism and oppression – is unacceptable. No good parent would put their children through a future of slavery and oppression and life in a decadent, godless society. Be a good parent. Turn to Christ. Be an example of the believers for your children, for your community, and for the world. You just might save your country, but you will certainly save your soul.

Happy Constitution Day. God be praised for sending the Founding Fathers to earth to carve out a haven of Liberty for the oppressed of the world and to institute the wisest document of Freedom ever seen in world history, the U.S. Constitution.

Let Us Live to Make Men Free

“As [the Lord Jesus] died to make men holy, let us die to make men free.” – Battle Hymn of the Republic

Happy Belated Independence Day! Cherish this sacred day. Honor it. Teach your children to honor the sweet principles of Liberty that make life worth living, and those who risked their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor to hand down such blessings.

Independence Day is not just another holiday. It is special. It is sacred. It stands in a league alongside the other redemption-centered holidays Easter and Christmas.

I spent most of the day completing my final research paper for a Civil War seminar as part of my doctoral program in history at Liberty University. My topic was the secession of my current state of residency, Alabama, and the influence of neighboring states and the propaganda-pushing press on that fateful decision. As my mind wandered from my paper to Independence Day, and I reflected on what Independence and Freedom truly mean, the stark immorality of many of the Southern secessionists’ self-righteous claims about standing for God and upholding a higher law while simultaneously urging the dissolution of the Union and war, if necessary, to keep a race of people enslaved, struck me as especially abhorrent.

The right of secession cannot be doubted; it is the very right invoked by the Founding Fathers in their rebellion against their tyrannical government in 1776. It is the natural right of all peoples and groups who are oppressed or who choose to separate themselves from any society. Birth does not bind us inexorably to one piece or land or to one political allegiance, especially when that allegiance is antithetical to one’s God-given rights and responsibilities. Yet, the morality of splitting apart a God-joined Union to preserve the sovereignty of states that relied upon slavery for existence and for their political power can be doubted. In reality, the Civil War was a counterrevolution against the American Revolution, which in turn was a revolt against 6,000 years of human misery, deception, and thralldom.

The principles of 1776 were and remain revolutionary. They set at defiance six millennia of despotism and bad political theory. The Southern “revolution,” as many of the secessionists called it, was a reversal of the rising tide of Freedom initiated by the American Revolution. It was a repudiation of the Declaration of Independence, of Washington, of Jefferson, of the U.S. Constitution’s plain and noble intent. The sacred Constitution of the United States means nothing, and can scarcely be understood, without the Declaration of Independence. Understanding the foundational principles and ideals espoused in the Declaration is critical to every American who hopes to be a benefit rather than a hindrance to his country

The Declaration of Independence is the most revolutionary single statement ever produced by man outside of the holy scriptures. The second paragraph of that document is the most revolutionary part of a revolutionary document. It begins:

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.–That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, –That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it. . .”

In these immortal words is the core of Americanism. It is what our People chose as their common creed. Whatever diverges from this creed is political heresy and justly deserves to be shunned, opposed, and defeated. To be specific, the above words: 1) acknowledge God as the source of human rights; 2) assert the equality of rights of all people in all ages of time; 3) specify the rights of life, Liberty, and personal free will and stewardship as guaranteed and immutable; 4) proclaim that the purpose of government is to secure Liberty; 5) acknowledge that the source of political power is the People and that their explicit consent in the acts of their representative government is necessary; and 6) affirm the right of revolution and rebellion against corruption and tyranny.

 If one wishes to deny the reality of God and instead assert that rights are derived from nature and one’s humanity, then so be it; each person is entitled to make mistakes and believe falsehoods. I testify, however, that God our Father exists, that His Son Jesus Christ walked the dusty paths of ancient Israel and atoned for the sins of the world, and that America must repent or perish. We will either worship the God of this special land, who is Christ the Lord, or we will be chastised and scourged until we repent or perish. Regardless of one’s personal convictions about God, however, the other points in the American creed are undeniable and universal; they are political Gospel.

One of the genius aspects of the American Revolution is that its principles are eternal and apply to all groups at all times. This can never be overstated. Rights come from God. They do not come from governments, constitutions, majority opinion, consensus, science, studies, laws, charters, or any man-made invention. Each person is entitled to equal rights under the law, including the right to life, Liberty, and the pursuit of happiness through stewardship. The purpose of government is to secure rights and leave the People unmolested to worship their God, work as they choose, and live life to the fullest. The People are the only source of political power and must give their consent to all laws made in their name and under their authority. And therefore the People may rightfully overthrow or alter their government when that government abuses its original intent and becomes an enemy to their rights.

For most of American history, our Republic has fulfilled its purpose admirably. Perfectly? No. But more nearly perfectly than any other system in any other nation and in any other period of time. Our People were once upright and just, learned and intelligent, moral and righteous. They took their responsibility for self-government seriously and were taught how to govern themselves. Our problems have come not because of flaws in our constitutional system but because we have lost our understanding of our core values, our national creed, and the principles of Liberty. We have decreased in our righteousness and fidelity to truth, goodness, hard work, and honor.

Simply look at the corrupt, power-hungry, warmongering, bloody, vicious, wicked men we have selected to be our presidents through the years and you will see how far we have fallen from grace. Without knowing it, we uphold a secret band of robbers, liars, criminals, murderers, and pedophiles to represent us in government, in the courts, and in Congress. Even worse, we are blind to their existence closer to home – in our schools, on schoolboards, in our churches, in the HOA, and so forth. We have become a debauched and hedonistic People and have consequently lost the spirit of discernment and truth. We are completely guilty of the Lord’s rebuke to the Israelites in Isaiah chapter 1:

“I have nourished and brought up children, and they have rebelled against me. . . .

“Ah sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a seed of evildoers, children that are corrupters: they have forsaken the Lord, they have provoked the Holy One of Israel unto anger, they are gone away backward. . . .

“How is the faithful city become an harlot! It was full of judgment; righteousness lodged in it; but now murderers. . . .

“Thy princes are rebellious, and companions of thieves: every one loveth gifts, and followeth after rewards: they judge not the fatherless, neither doth the cause of the widow come unto them” (Isaiah 1:2, 4, 21-23).

America is still the greatest nation on earth. I love America! I love our legacy and heritage of Freedom. I love the general goodness and willingness to help exemplified by most of our citizens. I love the opportunities, hobbled as they are by socialistic government regulations, that still abound. Yet, if we are honest, we know that we have fallen. We know that we are not as righteous, faithful, hardworking, dignified, or knowledgeable as we once were. Fortunately, the Lord’s merciful promise is available to our sinful and rebellious generation:

“Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil;

“Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.

“Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

“If you be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:

“But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it” (Isaiah 1:16-20).

Let us not rebel but repent! To repent simply means to change. It is to acknowledge the truth that we are imperfect and that we are often selfish and do things that we know are wrong. We may change. On a personal level, we can break any shackles of sin that we have placed on ourselves by crying out to the Lord, exercising faith in Him and His redeeming power, and changing our behavior to conform to His eternal laws and commands. We may prove our repentance by the way we treat others, by the way we honor the Sabbath day and keep it holy, by the way we pay tithes and offerings to help the poor and to assist in God’s effort to expand His Kingdom, and by the way we diligently study what is right and good in all fields, including citizenship in the greatest nation on earth.

If we individually, and collectively repent, our nation will be restored to its former goodness and even surpass it. The Lord has promised:

“And I will turn my hand upon thee, and purely purge away thy dross, and take away all thy sin.

“And I will restore thy judges as at the first, and thy counsellors as at the beginning: afterward thou shalt be called, The city of righteousness, the faithful city.

“Zion shall be redeemed with judgment, and her converts with righteousness” (Isaiah 1:25-27).

If we want good leaders, sound national policy, prosperity, and peace, our course is clear – we must repent and serve Jesus Christ. If we do not, and continue in our rebellion against His laws, our course is also clear – He will purge us. This will either lead to our humility and repentance or to our devastation by the sword, plagues, strife, famines, and all the horrors foretold by the Lord and His prophets.

I urge us to “live to make men free,” as the Battle Hymn of the Republic implores. This includes not only our Freedom from civil bondage and tyranny, but from sin and evil. Evil is entrenched around us. It is in our government, in Hollywood, in the controlled media, in Wall Street, in banking, in academic, in Congress, in the Supreme Court, in the intelligence community, in big business, in the medical industry, in professional sports, in churches, and in our own homes. If we want to be true Americans, we must cling to the creed of our fathers – the Declaration of Independence. We must also honor the God of our fathers, who is Christ the Lord. Only by doing this may we purge ourselves of sin and thereby purge our society of its ignorance, apathy, hedonism, pedophilia, drug abuse, murder, hate, unbelief, pride, and malignant criminality.

I close with a quote and my second of its sentiments. The statement was made by one Mr. Clark, one of the delegates chosen to attend the Montgomery Convention of January 1861 as Alabama debated whether or not to secede from the Union. Mr. Clark, a Unionist, gave an impassioned plea for reason, reminding his fellow delegates of the advantages of the Union:

“I have loved, honored and revered the Union of our fathers. I have cherished it for the good it has accomplished – the liberty it has secured, and the public and private prosperity it has dispensed. The treasure expended in its defence, the privations patriotically endured, and the many heroic lives voluntarily sacrificed to purchase the blessings it affords, I have never forgotten, and can never forget” (Mr. Clark, in William Russell Smith, The History and Debates of the Convention of the People of Alabama (Montgomery: White, Pfister & Co., 1861; reprint Legare Street Press, 2021), 103-104).

This Independence Day season, we should love, cherish, honor, and revere our Union and the Freedom for which it stands. We should remember the extraordinary sacrifices made to obtain and maintain our Liberty, Declaration of Independence, Constitution, and prosperous society. Our society has fallen from its pedestal not because of adherence to the principles of our glorious Founding, but out of neglect and sometimes outright repudiation of them. We should therefore seek to rekindle the flame of faith in Christ, loyalty to the Constitution and Declaration, and fidelity to the principles of truth, justice, and personal righteousness.

May God grant us the faith and strength to repent and not perish. The Savior stands with outstretched arms ready to receive us, if we will.

“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!” – Matthew 23:37

“[W]ill ye not now return unto me, and repent of your sins, and be converted, that I may heal you?

“Yea, verily I say unto you, if ye will come unto me ye shall have eternal life. Behold, mine arm of mercy is extended towards you, and whosoever will come, him will I receive; and blessed are those who come unto me.” – 3 Nephi 9:13-14

“O ye house of Israel whom I have spared, how oft will I gather you as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, if ye will repent and return unto me with full purpose of heart.” – 3 Nephi 10:6

Election Victory Without Repentance Means Nothing

Donald J. Trump has won the presidency, for the third time. One online commentator called the massive victory a “ray of hope.” That it is, but it will remain an unfulfilled and hollow hope for America without one crucial addition – repentance.

Repentance is the only remedy to our nation’s problems. We were once a godly People. We worshipped the Father in the name of His holy Son, Jesus Christ. Christ was our King. His law was our standard. We read the Bible, used it as our textbook, and proudly posted the Ten Commandments in public. Unless we elevate Christ as our Sovereign and take His law for our law yet again, Donald Trump’s reelection is a deceptive victory that will ultimately change nothing.

In all our celebrations over Trump’s victory, we must fall on our knees and thank God. We must pray from the heart that Trump’s life will be sustained and that the Satanic Ruling Elite will be thwarted in its attempt to retain illicit control over this nation. We must pray for forgiveness, for it our sins and wickedness that have allowed so many evil people to come to power over us for so many years.

Trump is merely a reprieve – not a savior. He is a half measure, though a positive step forward. To wayward and sinful Israel, the Lord promised:

“Therefore saith the Lord, the Lord of hosts, the mighty One of Israel, Ah, I will ease me of mine adversaries, and avenge me of mine enemies:

“And I will turn my hand upon thee, and purely purge away thy dross, and take away all thy tin:

“And I will restore thy judges as at the first, and thy counsellors as at the beginning: afterward thou shalt be called, The city of righteousness, the faithful city.

“Zion shall be redeemed with judgment, and her converts with righteousness.

“And the destruction of the transgressors and of the sinners shall be together, and they that forsake the Lord shall be consumed” (Isaiah 1:24-28).

Our righteous judges, that is, good leaders, will only be restored to us if we repent. Trump is the best leader we have had in a generation, yet in all honesty he doesn’t hold a candle to the wisdom, competence, and principled integrity of men like George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and Andrew Jackson. Our good “judges” have been taken away because we forsook the Lord and stopped walking in His ways. If we repent, however, and continue down the path we have indicated that we want to pursue as a People, legitimately good, righteous, and competence leaders will eventually be restored to us. The path forward is repentance.

In the same word given to Isaiah, the Lord implored and promised all of us:

“Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil;

“Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.

“Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

“If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:

“But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it” (Isaiah 1:16-20).

Those are the stakes – we will repent or perish. Unless we humble ourselves in sackcloth and ashes beginning from this moment and moving forward, we will be devoured by the sword and our Republic will be broken up, guaranteed. We must repent, cleanse ourselves, purge our sins, and turn to the Lord. Repentance means “to turn,” as in turning from evil to good. We must turn from evil to the Lord who is Christ our King, our Savior, our Redeemer.

We must forsake our hedonism and sexual immorality, our drunkenness and drug abuse, our criminality, our profane language and contentious quarreling, our murdering of babies in the womb, our human trafficking, our bastardization of the Constitution, our occultism and New Age religious blasphemy, and all other points on which we offend the Almighty and break His commandments. We must restore Faith, Family, and Freedom to their rightful places, protecting them, cherishing them, and promoting them. Unless we stop doing the evil things we are doing and begin doing those things we are supposed to do, political victories mean absolutely nothing.

Dear reader, we must maintain the moral high ground as a People. The American People was once the most Christian, moral, honest, and hardworking people on earth. Because of Marxist subversion, our culture has rotted and now stinks, per the enemy’s agenda to defeat us from within, discredit our institutions, and demoralize us. Repentance is the remedy.

Let us have faith in our Savior Jesus Christ. He has the power to save us, heal us, and restore us to our former glory; we can’t do it without Him. He has the power to make our weak patches strong; we won’t become strong without Him. He has an abundance of mercy and earned the right to bestow His grace upon us as He shed His blood in the Garden of Gethsemane and gave His life voluntarily for us on the cross.

Isaiah prophesied of Jesus Christ’s Atonement for the penitent in these terms:

“Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.

“But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed” (Isaiah 53:4-5).

He bore all of our sins and afflictions, yet His redeeming grace only extends to us and cleanses us if we repent in humility, turn to Him, enter into the ordinances of His Church, and walk the “way of holiness” to the end of our lives (Isaiah 35:8). As a nation, if we purge out the evil from among us from infanticide to immorality and repent and exalt God as our Judge, Lawgiver, and King, He will restore our judges.

If we do this, Donald Trump will be only a beginning; it will get better from there. As it is, the next three months could be precarious. If the Satanic Ruling Elite allow Trump to take power – they have threatened to not certify him and to twist the Constitution to prevent him taking the office he has now been elected to three times – I foresee them tearing down society around him as revenge or to scapegoat him. They could pull the plug on the economy immediately, driving us into a global depression. They could start or provoke war in any number of places around the world. They could carry out a false-flag attack on the government, blaming it on Trump and using it as a pretext to cancel the election victory. They could assassinate Mr. 47 as they nearly accomplished twice this year. They could attempt to throw him in prison at his bogus sentencing later this month (which he should not attend). They could unleash their nihilistic mobs to burn the country to the ground like they did in 2020. They could release another virus – a real one this time, claiming millions of lives. They could attempt to use the courts to steal the election away from Trump. They could use a cyberattack or EMP to take down the grid. Israel could stab us in the back again and embroil us in one of their wars. There are any number of things these murderous, tyrannical demons could do to retain power or pour down revenge up the bitter clingers, deplorables, and garbage.

If we want to be sustained through the war until we finally win, we must repent and increase our faith in Jesus Christ, our Master. Christ is King. God’s law is our law; we must enshrine it from coast to coast. The Constitution is inspired and was set up by God through the hands of wise men who deserve our praise. We must embrace our American heritage of Faith, Family, Freedom. Enjoy Trump’s third victory tonight, but know that it means nothing unless we also repent. If we repent, this will only be the beginning and, no matter the trials, we will come out on top. If we don’t, the Lord’s word will be verified and we will perish as a nation in a bloody spectacle that will shock the entire world.

Abortion Rising; America Falling

Since the Supreme Court made their erroneous decision on Roe v. Wade, allowing states to determine life and death instead of defending the right to life as enshrined in natural law and our founding documents, abortion has increased! Did you know that there has been a higher percentage of abortions since the death of Roe v. Wade than before? Gratefully, some precious sons and daughters of God have been spared and will now enjoy an earthly existence that they might otherwise have been denied. However, in other places, the death factories are working overtime to genocide the future generation of Americans. 

The Supreme Court must have missed that part about no one being deprived of life when they said states could deprive people of life if they so chose.

While conservatives celebrated the death of Roe v. Wade – and I then acknowledged it as at least a partial step forward – I warned that the Supreme Court’s decision would weaken America, embolden radicals, and not end abortion. I argued that by so blatantly ignoring the Declaration of Independence’s and Constitution’s guarantee of God-given rights, the Supreme Court usurped authority they did not have by making abortion – the issue of our right to life – a states’ rights matter. That is an insane misinterpretation of the Constitution and of the entire concept of natural law and republican government. 

The rationale of states’ rights as it relates to cardinal human rights that supersede all man-made governments is much like the rationale of Protestantism. When you allow everyone to decide for themselves what is right and wrong, don’t be surprised when you suddenly have mass confusion, volatile clashes, institutionalized division, and 45,000 unique opinions on the same topic that, truthfully, only has one correct interpretation. 

The simple reality is that states do not have the right to determine for themselves what our God-given rights are. They cannot justly say, for instance, that you don’t have a right to life, a right to defend yourself, a right to own and use private property, a right to buy and sell as you wish, a right to free speech, a right to worship God as you choose, etc. These are not states’ rights prerogatives, but human rights given by God Almighty, codified in the law of nature, and inherited by all at birth. 

If states have authority to decide these issues for themselves, there can be no security of any of our rights because they are held at the whim of whoever controls the state government at any given time. If states have always had the right to decide what are and are not human rights, then there were no legal grounds against slavery and the South was perfectly justified in retaining the damnable institution. The logic simply does not hold water. In America, natural law is king, and your personal opinions are irrelevant. 

Can you imagine the chaos and instability if we allowed California or New York – or any other state – to decide for themselves what constituted your right of conscience? Christians are already persecuted as it is, but the limits of that persecution would cease to exist if we took the matter of Freedom of religion out of the federal realm and gave it to the states. States could declare this or that ideology a “public danger” and simply ban it. 

I belong to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. On October 27, 1838, our Church was declared by Governor Boggs of the state of Missouri to be a public threat. Using similar logic to that displayed by the Supreme Court which purposes that states can do whatever they please, the Constitution be damned, Governor Boggs issued a literal extermination order against Latter-day Saints and authorized militia groups to either drive them from the state at the barrel of a gun or “exterminate” them. 

If we can acknowledge that all Americans regardless of political jurisdiction should have their rights of conscience held sacrosanct and protected against government intervention and interference at all levels, then why is it so difficult to acknowledge that our right to life is similarly sacrosanct and must not be made the purview of the states? 

The faulty logic of “conservatives” is that the Constitution’s Ninth and Tenth Amendments reserve the authority over such matters as abortion to the states. However, to accept this incorrect idea is to accept that the Declaration of Independence and U.S. Constitution mean absolutely nothing, have no power, and are themselves incorrect. Let me explain by quoting myself. 

In an article immediately preceding the Roe v. Wade opinion, titled “What is Federal, What is State,” I wrote: 

“The Supreme Court is gearing up to potentially release an opinion that would not exactly overturn Roe v. Wade, but which would allow the states to decide for themselves. I think this is repugnant to the spirit and meaning of both the Declaration and the Constitution.  

“First in the list of rights declared to be self-evident, and which government is duty bound to protect, is life. Some among us repeat “Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness” without really thinking about it. If we believe these are rights, then how can we permit abortion? If life is a right, how can government, which is created for the purpose of securing our rights, deny that right to millions?  

“There is little difference between the atrocious institution of slavery and the infanticide of tens of millions of unborn men and women (in fact, more blacks have been destroyed through abortion than slavery in this country). Both deprive the individual of “life” in any meaningful sense. Without Liberty, life is meaningless. Without Liberty, there is no ability to pursue happiness. Before you can have Liberty or pursue happiness, however, you must have life. Without life, you have neither Liberty nor happiness. 

“Those who support the life-destroying scourge of abortion are enemies to the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and America. This is not just another “political issue”; it is a defining principle dealing with the fundamental, natural, God-given rights of individuals. There is a right and a wrong on abortion as much as there is a right and a wrong about slavery, genocide, free speech, or the right of self-defense.  

“The U.S. government was created to defend natural rights, including the right to life. This is not the job of the states, though the states should be a secondary defense if the federal government neglects its duty. This is a federal, or national, issue. The federal Constitution, not the individual state constitutions, is the supreme law of the land. If the federal government has no jurisdiction to defend life in the states, then, in all honesty, please tell me why we even have a national government and a constitution.  

“The Declaration of Independence, which declared our right to life, was written by the representatives of the whole People. It is as good as gospel law for Americans. Remember what the Founding Fathers said in the Declaration, that if ANY government falls short of its mandate to secure the rights of life, Liberty, and the pursuit of happiness to its people, it is despotic and must be altered or abolished. . . . 

“I repeat that the right to life is a right guaranteed by the Declaration and the Constitution. The Declaration explicitly champions the right to life and the Preamble to the Constitution explicitly states that its purpose is to “secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity.” If babies do not have a right to life, then we older human beings don’t either. It either applies equally to everyone or it’s not a right. 

Roe v. Wade is a bastardization of law, Liberty, and logic, to say nothing of conscience and morality. It is a demonic violation of the most fundamental of all God-given rights guaranteed by our founding documents. The judges usurped power, concocted a “right” out of whole cloth, and stripped young human beings of their implicit right to life. . . . 

“In America, we don’t take our principles from the courts, we take them from the Declaration of Independence and Constitution, and they took them from natural law and the Bible. In America, polls and popularity don’t decide policy, law, or rights. It doesn’t matter how many feminists screech and howl or how many Antifa thugs march through the streets, the right to life is sacred and has been codified by U.S. law since 1776. 

“Defending Freedom is not a states’ rights issue; it is a human issue. Specifically, the right to life is one of the big-picture problems that the nation as a whole must face and must collectively solve. Life is a federal/national issue that the states do not have exclusive purview over, but one in which they may ratify, support, and confirm the People’s national representatives in safeguarding.  

“In all seriousness, dear reader, if the Constitution does not encompass the right to life, being one of the most fundamental rights, then what is its purpose? The Constitution is the supreme law of the land and I submit to every rational mind that it authorizes its agents – those who raise their arm and swear to uphold it – to defend, protect, and preserve life. Abortion is a blatant violation of eternal law, natural law, the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and science. It is human sacrifice. It is evil and must be stamped out.  

“If the Supreme Court refuses to undo Roe v. Wade nationally, eternal shame on them – and eternal shame on all government representatives and citizens at all levels who are too cowardly to stand up for the right to life. If the high court attempts to make it a state issue, they have abdicated their duty to uphold the Constitution and show their own cowardice. At least, if protecting life becomes a state issue, half of the nation will rise to the challenge and create pockets of life and Liberty. Sadly, however, the plague will not end, divine judgements will not be averted, and the Declaration of Independence and Constitution will slide further down the totem of importance.” 

Was I right or was I wrong? If the babies who are being slaughtered at a higher rate could speak, they would tell you I was right, the Supreme Court was wrong, the Constitution has been even widely ignored by the states since 2022, and abortion is a scourge that will draw down the judgements of an offended God. 

To all the so-called “conservatives” who thought it was a genius idea to allow states to decide whether we have a right to life, spitting upon the Constitution and Declaration of Independence in the process, shame on you. Repent and throw your weight behind the Constitution and the God-given rights it guarantees to every America regardless of the state in which they reside. 

America is falling. We are buckling under the weight of our collective immorality, ignorance, apathy, arrogance, and contention. We are being divided and conquered by a single-minded Elite of Satanic conspirators who wish to subjugate us. The Roe v. Wade decision was a step forward on one hand, but a huge blow against whatever residual unity we still had in 2022. 

With baby murder now being enshrined as a “right” in the constitutions of several states, and with an activist Supreme Court that things states have a greater right to define life than does the U.S. Constitution which they are supposed to uphold, America is more hopelessly divided than before. In our divided state, we will be easier to rip apart – and, trust me, there are jackals within and abroad who are collaborating to rip us into pieces and devour the scraps. 

About a decade ago, I read a private communication revealed by Wikileaks, which I have unfortunately lost, between two Elitists discussing the rumblings of opposition among the general population. One of the two voiced concern about the popular uprising that was beginning to emerge. The other individual, however, simply laughed and said the political opposition meant nothing because their plan of undermining our morality was in full swing and succeeding on all fronts. 

History has proved this same point; namely, that immoral nations are incapable of Freedom. Benjamin Franklin warned about this when he said: 

“[O]nly a virtuous people are capable of freedom. As nations become corrupt and vicious, they have more need of masters” (Benjamin Franklin to Abbes Chalut and Arnoux, April 17, 1787). 

John Witherspoon agreed with his contemporary, contending: 

“Nothing is more certain than that a general profligacy and corruption of manners make a people ripe for destruction. A good form of government may hold the rotten materials together for some time, but beyond a certain pitch, even the best constitution will be ineffectual, and slavery must ensue. On the other hand, when the manners of a nation are pure, when true religion and internal principles maintain their vigor, the attempts of the most powerful enemies to oppress them are commonly baffled and disappointed” (John Witherspoon, “The Dominion of Providence over the Passions of Man,” May 17, 1776). 

General Washington concurred, warning the nation of the need for religion and morality: 

“Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports. In vain would that man claim the tribute of patriotism, who should labor to subvert these great pillars of human happiness, these firmest props of the duties of men and citizens” (George Washington, Farewell Address, 1796).   

Using the colorful lexicon which he employed so powerfully, John Adams asserted: 

“We have no Government armed with Power capable of contending with human Passions unbridled by morality and Religion. Avarice, Ambition, Revenge or Galantry, would break the strongest Cords of our Constitution as a Whale goes through a Net. Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious People. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other” (John Adams to the Massachusetts Militia, October, 11, 1798). 

Another time, Mr. Adams declared: 

“The only foundation of a free constitution is pure virtue, and if this cannot be inspired into our people in a greater measure than they have it now, they may change their rulers and the forms of government, but they will not obtain a lasting liberty. They will only exchange tyrants and tyrannies” (John Adams to Zabdiel Adams, June 21, 1776).  

Hebrews sacrificing their children to Moloch/Molech. How is this different than modern abortion?

Unless America repents of her wickedness and returns in humility to Jesus Christ who is the God of this land and embraces our Heaven-inspired Constitution with its guarantee of natural rights, such as the right to life, Liberty, property, self-defense, and conscience, she will fall. If we continue to sanction the slaughter of innocent children, and even celebrate the constitutionally illiterate judges who allow the slaughter to be institutionalized by the states in defiance of the Declaration of Independence and federal Constitution, we will deserve the terrible cleansing God has in store for us. 

Dear reader, I warn you that upholding the practice of abortion places you in opposition to the Kingdom of Heaven. To all, I say, prepare for the coming collapse. Get right with God. Pick yourself back up each time you stumble or backslide. We all do. We all need daily repentance. Even the dastardly evil of abortion can be repented of if the offender is sincere enough and goes through the proper process. Please try, as imperfectly as we mortals can, to follow in the footsteps of our Savior. His Gospel is the only path of holiness that leads to the Kingdom of Heaven and, I use the words deliberately, eternal life

Political Awakening Without Religious Revival Equals Defeat

Daily, I see conservative pundits gush about the political awakening they see happening in America and around the world. They say, “We’re winning!” and “The political Elite are petrified!” and “They’re running scared!” No, we’re not, and no, they’re not. A political awakening without a religious revival equals defeat. 

On the surface, it appears that the side of truth, light, and right is winning. Bumbling Biden’s corrupt regime is crumbling as more information about his bribery and duplicity emerges despite the best attempts of the controlled press to conceal it. The House of Representatives has opened an impeachment inquiry against the cognitively impaired fake “president,” and his crack-addict son Hunter is facing a felony indictment for lying about his drug habit while purchasing a firearm. Lies of every type are being exposed, whistleblowers are coming out of the woodwork, the January 6th “insurrection” lie is unraveling, the complicity of Big Tech and the Establishment is now well known, the Coronahoax charade is collapsing as the slogan “We will not comply” is trending, judicial victories are proliferating for conservative defendants prosecuted by the tyrannical Establishment, and more. 

Meanwhile, Trump’s support is larger than it ever has been notwithstanding the fraudulent indictments and court cases the political Establishment is throwing at him. Many Democrats have abandoned ship and are now Team Trump. Increasing numbers of minority voters, which have always voted Democrat, are now openly and vocally on Trump’s side. While Biden can’t string two coherent sentences together and is literally being mocked on the world stage, Trump is out there looking as robust as ever at mass rallies and events. The controlled press is collapsing as viewers shift toward independent media. Establishment Republican presidential candidates like Chris Christie, Nikki Haley, Mike Pence, Ron DeSantis, and Vivek Ramaswamy, brought in around 12 million viewers to the first presidential debate whereas Trump’s interview with Tucker Carlson on the same night brought in 250 million. 

By every political metric, it appears the conservative cause is full-steam-ahead while liberalism is collapsing in almost comical fashion. However, appearances are often deceiving. I fully admit that a global awakening is now underway. I wrote about this in my 2022 article “Slaves Rising.” Politically, the curtain has fallen, and every honest and aware investigator knows who is really pulling the strings and that they are trying to crush us. We know the demonic agenda that is in the works and the hellish high-tech slavery that is being prepared for us. Yet, I fail to see the necessary religious revival materialize alongside this gratifying political awakening. 

Sure, some Christians are becoming more hardcore, vocal, and organized, but the overall number of Christians is rapidly decreasing while atheists, New Agers, Satanists, and Wiccans are flourishing. Social media outlets like Gab.com are fighting hard against the Satanic conspiracy for the glory of the Lord, but the conspiracy retains its stranglehold on the levers of power in society. Movies like Sound of Freedom, based on the anti-human trafficking efforts of Latter-day Saint Tim Ballard, are outperforming Hollywood’s corrupt excuses for entertainment, yet Ballard is now at the center of malicious smear attack that has turned some of his supporters against him. 

The conservative side has also placed many of their representatives in government, but are these representatives truly religious and moral? Let’s take a case in point. Representative Lauren Boebert from Colorado has been one of the most outspoken critics of the regime and supporters of self-defense rights, the Constitution, and so on. She has openly defied many of the regime’s absurd restrictions, such as when she walked into a session at the Capital armed, and has asserted her rights. Yet do you recall the incident that happened this week? Boebert was kicked out of a theater with her date after vaping and groping her partner while wearing an immodest dress. Then she denied it and lied about doing both, which denial has been contradicted by video evidence. After the video emerged, she admitted her lies. This is one of our side’s most ardent representatives, and yet she is morally bankrupt and a liar to boot. 

Vivek Ramaswamy has risen dramatically in the polls as of late. He says many of the right things yet has a shady past and even shadier connections. The kicker, however, is that he is Hindu. I have nothing against Hindus (in fact, I love Indian culture, cuisine, clothing style, history, etc.), but, in America, we can only afford to have Christians fill the seats of government; not Jews, Muslims, Hindus, atheists, or worse. Christ is the God of this land and it is our duty to vote for Christians if we want His divine favor. 

Why should the fact that a non-Christian and a lying Christian are so popular on our side be a surprise? After all, Donald Trump is essentially worshiped as the savior by conservatives. Trump, you’ll recall, was a braggadocious serial adulterer and a crass individual. I believe he has changed for the better since he first took office, as we all thankfully have the opportunity to do because of the Atonement and grace of Jesus Christ, but his moral qualities – or lack thereof – make him suspect. His lack of virtue, I believe, impairs his ability to discern truth from error, and make correct decisions. 

Think of the vicious and corrupt men Trump surrounded himself with during his first term – men who have almost universally now been exposed as enemies to the Republic who undermined him and his policies at every turn. Had he had a modicum of the Holy Spirit with him, he would have been able to discern between the traitors and patriots and would have achieved far more while in office. 

I’ll quickly add that the Lord sometimes uses those who don’t know Him to further His purposes. Cyrus the Great comes to mind. However, I believe He designed America to be different. This is His land. He founded it. He established the Constitution. He preserved our forefathers and delivered them out of bondage.  

The Lord’s omnipotent hand was so evident in the War for Independence that George Washington was forced to write: “The hand of Providence has been so conspicuous in all this, that he must be worse than an infidel that lacks faith, and more than wicked, that has not gratitude enough to acknowledge his obligations” (George Washington to Thomas Nelson, August 20, 1778). 

Later, the good General again asserted: 

“The man must be bad indeed who can look upon the events of the American Revolution without feeling the warmest gratitude towards the great Author of the Universe whose divine interposition was so frequently manifested in our behalf—And it is my earnest prayer that we may so conduct ourselves as to merit a continuance of those blessings with which we have hitherto been favoured” (George Washington to Samuel Langdon, September 28, 1789). 

The God who raised up our nation expects us to worship Him, keep His commandments, and follow His laws. The Bible says: “The Lord is with you, while ye be with him; and if ye seek him, he will be found of you; but if ye forsake him, he will forsake you” (2 Chronicles 15:2). This leaves little room for error. We either remain a moral and Christian People, or we are destined to collapse into ruin and be cleansed by an offended God. 

The Apostle Paul detailed many of the reasons why God judges and forsakes nations. As you read his words, consider whether America is guilty of these sins and bad behaviors: 

“For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness. . . . 

“. . . when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. 

“Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, 

“And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. 

“Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: 

“Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. 

“For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: 

“And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. 

“And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; 

“Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, 

“Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 

“Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: 

“Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them” (Romans 1:18, 21-32). 

Paul cited lust, fornication, homosexuality, oath-breaking, lying, contention, anger, envy, gossiping, pridefulness, atheism, ingratitude, corruption, vanity, idol worship, and other sins, as reasons why God forsakes and condemns a nation. Is America guilty of these things? She is.  

Let’s consider the following. We have the world’s largest porn industry and sex-industrial complex (Russia is #2). The American People, once chaste and pure, are hedonistic and sensual. A study from 1949-2003 showed that premarital sex (i.e. fornication) was nearly universal. Here’s a quote: 

“Data from the 2002 survey indicate that by age 20, 77% of respondents had had sex, 75% had had premarital sex, and 12% had married; by age 44, 95% of respondents (94% of women, 96% of men, and 97% of those who had ever had sex) had had premarital sex. Even among those who abstained until at least age 20, 81% had had premarital sex by age 44. Among cohorts of women turning 15 between 1964 and 1993, at least 91% had had premarital sex by age 30. Among those turning 15 between 1954 and 1963, 82% had had premarital sex by age 30, and 88% had done so by age 44.” 

These are shocking numbers. It is more shocking when you understand that sexual sin ranks right behind denying the Holy Ghost and murder in terms of seriousness in God’s eyes. How can a nation where all but a few don’t commit sexual sin expect the Lord’s blessings? Even 67% of Christians, according to a recent Gallup poll, believe that sex between unmarried individuals is ok either “always,” “sometimes,” or “rarely.” A mere 32% of Christians polled actually stood for the Biblical truth that sex before marriage is always sin. 

You may have noticed that the two polls cited disagree slightly. Either the Christians polled in the second instance were lying and fornicating while claiming to believe it’s wrong, or the first poll slightly exaggerated how many people fornicate. Either way, the numbers are astronomically horrific and demonstrate how wicked our society has become. 

Drunkenness, substance abuse, contention, backbiting, gossiping, deceiving, lying, covenant-breaking, homosexuality, transgenderism, child abuse, lust, adultery, fornication, immodesty, criminality, profane language, irresponsibility, laziness, disrespect, dishonorable behavior, disobedience to parents, divorce, domestic violence, infanticide, pride, and so many more iniquitous actions and patterns, characterize modern American and Western culture. Frankly, the entire world suffers from this exact same wickedness, but it is more prominently on full display in living color here in America thanks to the cultural Marxists who are deliberately attempting to rot our nation from the inside. 

Not only do we do these despicable things, but we celebrate them! We call people “heroes” for breaking the Lord’s commandments and flaunting their perversions. California just declared August to be transgender month. Transgenderism is, as many professionals have declared it, a mental disorder. I would classify it more correctly as a spiritual disorder. Yet, despite the science and the common sense, we coddle and play into the fantasies of these people who desperately need our help to free them from the Satanic grip of identity crisis, low self-esteem, depression, and perversion. 

Homosexuality, which is celebrated with gay pride month, is also fawned over by the media, Hollywood, schools, business, and sycophants everywhere. They have their parades, parties, and award shows. People pander to the Sodomites by wearing rainbow stickers, hoisting rainbow flags, and standing in solidarity with them like good comrades/. 

Heterosexual fornication and adultery are no less evil. Most people, unfortunately, don’t think twice about sleeping around and being sexually active outside of marriage, beginning often in middle or high school. It’s just what you do these days. “Everyone’s doing it,” Lucifer, the Father of Lies, whispers in their ears. So prevalent is our perversion that sexual sin is not merely displayed everywhere, but is presented as “cool,” “normal,” “natural,” “good,” and even “healthy.” 

Alcoholism and drug abuse are also eroding the moral fabric of society. The fentanyl crisis, fueled intentionally by Red China as part of the long-term communist strategy of softening us up through drugs, is only one of many drug-related pits out of which we must crawl. The media has gone out of its way to conceal the marijuana-related crime – including auto accidents and deaths – that has followed in the wake of its legalization in places like Colorado. Caffeine, classified as a psychoactive drug, also has us in its grip. On all sides, illicit and dangerous substances are being used to deaden our minds and souls and weaken us in preparation for the enemy’s end game. 

Can a nation that celebrates so much decadence survive? No. It has often been said that if God spared America, He would have to apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah. He would also need to apologize to the House of Israel whom He punished and scattered throughout the world for their sexual sins, disobedience, and other wickedness if He lets us get away with the very same sins. 

The reality is that no political fix can pull us out of our morass of immorality. No election will solve our problems. No political savior will save us. To think Donald Trump, or the 2024 election which may never happen, or any other political solution will rescue us, is folly. 

Only Jesus can save us. He is our true Savior. Yet, He will not save us in sin. He can’t save us in sin! He can change us and then save us as we repent of sin, and faith in Him, repentance, and a sincere striving to keep His commandments are prerequisites. 

Is America repenting of her gross violations of divine law? I don’t see it. From my perspective, hearts are becoming more hardened, people and institutions are becoming more corrupt, faith is diminishing, rudeness, vulgarity, and immorality are increasing, marriages and families are imploding, ignorance and superstition are deepening, music and art are becoming more profane, daily interactions are becoming more contentious, government is devolving into tit-for-tat tyranny, tribalism is growing alarmingly, hatred is being fanned, and evil is being celebrated and legalized more than ever before. 

Where in the scriptures can you find the hope that blinds conservatives? When I read the scriptures, I see a progressive worsening of events, conditions, and behavior until the time the Lord returns and cleanses the earth. I don’t see a new golden age of prosperity, peace, Freedom, and prophesied for the time preceding the Second Coming. Rather, I see the following foretold for our day: 

“And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 

“For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. 

“All these are the beginning of sorrows. 

“Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake. 

“And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. 

“And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. 

“And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. . . . 

“. . . then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. 

“And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those adays shall be shortened. . . . 

“For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect” (Matthew 24: 6-12, 21-22, 24). 

“And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him? 

“And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months. 

“And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven. 

“And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. 

“And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world” (Revelation 13:4-8; by some researchers’ calculations, we are currently living in the forty two months when the first Beast reigns, and that its bloody demise – paving the way for the second Beast and the Anti-Christ – is slated for 2024). 

“I say unto you that before this great day shall come the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall be turned into blood, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and there shall be greater signs in heaven above and in the earth beneath; 

“And there shall be weeping and wailing among the hosts of men; 

“And there shall be a great hailstorm sent forth to destroy the crops of the earth. 

“And it shall come to pass, because of the wickedness of the world, that I will take vengeance upon the wicked, for they will not repent; for the cup of mine indignation is full; for behold, my blood shall not cleanse them if they hear me not. 

“Wherefore, I the Lord God will send forth flies upon the face of the earth, which shall take hold of the inhabitants thereof, and shall eat their flesh, and shall cause maggots to come in upon them; 

“And their tongues shall be stayed that they shall not utter against me; and their flesh shall fall from off their bones, and their eyes from their sockets; 

“And it shall come to pass that the beasts of the forest and the fowls of the air shall devour them up. 

“And the great and abominable church, which is the whore of all the earth, shall be cast down by devouring fire, according as it is spoken by the mouth of Ezekiel the prophet, who spoke of these things, which have not come to pass but surely must, as I live, for abominations shall not reign” (Doctrine and Covenants 29:14-21). 

Abominations reign, even in America. Because of this, Donald Trump can’t save our nation (and I doubt he will be permitted by the powers-that-be to retake the presidency). No election can do it. No political revolution can do it. No great political awakening, as welcome as it is, can succeed in the absence of a concurrent religious revival and mass repentance. 

Don’t buy the hopium so many conservatives are selling. Don’t stake everything on the upcoming presidential election. Don’t put your trust in the arm of flesh, but in the God of Heaven and His Son Jesus Christ. 

I testify that Jesus is the God of this land, that He was with our forefathers, and that He established the United States. I witness that He lived, that He lives, and that He is the Savior. He will return soon, but before He does the earth will be bathed in blood, fire, pestilence, perversion, anguish, suffering, tribulation, misery, tyranny, darkness, and evil. Things will not get better, but progressively and exponentially worse. Steel yourself for the coming hardships and shore up your spiritual foundation. 

Remember and apply the parable of the Master: 

“Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 

“Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 

“And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. 

“Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon fa rock: 

“And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a crock. 

“And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: 

“And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it” (Matthew 7:21-27). 

The fall is coming. Prepare now. Don’t misplace your hope and trust. Don’t believe in idols, false prophets, and political demigods. Build upon the one and only foundation that will never fall, the true Gospel of Jesus Christ, our Master, Redeemer, and King.

What We Learned from the Midterm Election 

Here’s what we know about yesterday’s midterm election – the Establishment that has a history of cheating continues to cheat. Shocker. In the days leading up to the election, I published two articles warning patriots not to get their hopes up and not to put their faith in elections. The articles are here and here. In other recent articles, I have been pessimistic about future elections in America. 

I am not always right, but I am more often than not. This time, sadly, I was right. Among other things, I gave some thoughts in my last two articles that I want to recap before moving on to my observations about last night’s Grand Theft America. On November fourth, I wrote

“It is difficult to imagine a free and fair election happening next week. Puppet Biden has already come out and said that we won’t know the election results on election night, but that we must wait at least several days. Except in 2020 with all of its egregious anomalies and malicious malpractice, it has never been standard practice to wait to reveal the winners. We have always known, on election night, who won elections. The only logical reason why the power-that-be would plan to wait until days after the election to declare winners is to cheat. It’s certainly not because of the so-called “Pandemic” that the fake “president” has declared to be over!  

“Unless the Establishment cheats again, there will be a massive victory for Republicans. In my life, I have never seen such vehement backlash against an American regime as against Biden and his cronies the past two years. The polls, which are classically wrong, also show a strong bent towards Republicans. Despite the popular voice, the corrupt ruling Establishment which has no morals and will do literally anything – including unleash a plague, start a war, or steal an election – to stay in power.  

“The fact that the Satanic communist conspiracy which holds us in a vice grip will resort to any and all Devilish tactics to stay in power is why it is utterly delusional to think that the madness will end because of an election. If Americans flood the polling booths and overwhelm the cheating so much that America-first patriots are installed throughout the country, it will be a pyrrhic victory because the traitors won’t go quietly into the night. They will fight back. They could unleash another plague or go to war in the Middle East. They may pull a false-flag attack and eliminate the current weak regime, replacing it with a military dictatorship. I have discussed the coming assassination false flag here and here. The jackals may even invite Russia to start a world war, which Russia has been planning to wage for decades. There is literally nothing they wouldn’t do to retain power. . . . 

“The conspirators aren’t scared of us. They hold the American People in contempt. Why would they be scared of us? What have we ever done to remove them from power or prosecute them for their crimes? We haven’t held them accountable for their criminality, corruption, foreign entanglements, illegal wars, illegal spending, unconstitutional dealings, treason with foreign regimes, stolen elections, and trampling of our nation’s history and laws. In all seriousness, why would they fear us?  

“The American People have become, to a great extent, weak like other nations. When our presidential election was stolen and enough Senate seats (e.g. in Georgia) were stolen to flip the Senate, one or two million patriots waved flags in D.C. That was our big “resistance.” That was all we did. It was pathetic and shameful!  

“On January 6, 2021, when I saw the headline flash across the news that patriots had stormed the Capitol Building, I felt a momentary leap of excitement. I thought, maybe, some people were finally fed up enough with being treated like slaves that they were fighting back. I was wrong. The headlines were blown out of proportion. A few hundred people, many of them federal provocateurs, entered the Capitol while, amazingly, the rest tried to stop them. What did President Trump do? He never even attempted the Capitol gathering, but, instead, called upon everyone to go home in peace. He similarly did nothing when BLM and Antifa were burning down the nation. The only thing he really did in 2020 was shut down the U.S. economy and kickstart the program of vaccination genocide. So, please, tell me, why should the Luciferian Elite be scared of us?  

“Furthermore, the majority of the traitors in Washington are unelected. They won’t be out of a job because of an election. Even if they were to be fired by an incoming president, for instance, they all run in the same cliques and belong to the same secret societies; their future in politics is secure. Trump didn’t drain anything – the swamp is fuller than ever and is oozing out onto everything. . . . 

“Elections, as important as they are, can’t do anything meaningful to halt the rising tide of criminality and corruption because these stem not from policies alone but from personal principles. The character of our People, not the characters in Washington, is what matters. The madness won’t stop because it can’t be stopped on an external level; it must be halted within. Until we reform ourselves as individuals and a society, no election results will have any lasting impact. We could literally elect George Washington as president and there would not be enough substantive changes he could make to fix America. No election will fix our broken Republic!” 

I said many more things in that article that I hope you will take the time to go back and read, because they are relevant to our future path forward as a People. In fact, they get to the heart of the issues and how to truly change our nation and world. The point, however, is that I predicted that the election wouldn’t change America for the better. I said the cheating would continue and it did. Does anyone honestly believe, for example, that Arizona is a blue state? It may be premature to call Arizona for the Democrats since not all the votes have been counted and the races are close, however, according to the controlled press, Democrats more or less swept the state last night. Who truly believes that? 

Even if you think Arizona is split down the middle, you still have to account for the voting machine problems that “coincidentally” plagued the election literally from the first moments of the day (but only in Republican areas). Why did so many of the machines stop working – again? Why were some of the machines misreading ballots – again? Why were votes being flipped from Republican to Democratic candidates – again? Why were election workers telling people that instead of tabulating their votes then and there, they’d do it later in the night? Why was the person running as a candidate allowed to remain charge of the election without recusing herself? Arizona was ground zero for election fraud in 2020 and it appears they wanted to keep their crown in 2022. 

Furthermore, taking a bigger view, why did Dominion voting machines go down in New Jersey? Why did people in multiple states, including Arizona and Michigan to name only two, show up to the polls only to be told they had already voted? How did Fetterman, who can’t string two words together in a coherent sentence, supposedly win in Pennsylvania? How did Warnock, who was fraudulently elected last time, win again over Walker? Walker may still win the day since it appears so close that it will cause a special run-off election, but, at the current time, the media shows Warnock ahead by 35,000 votes. Why were dead people voting in multiple states? Perhaps it is the dead voters who elected the dead Democrat Barbara Cooper in Tennessee’s District 86 and gave her at least 73% of the tally! That’s only slightly more disheartening than seeing a transgender win in Minnesota, an adulterer win in Colorado, and Missourians stupidly vote to legalize drug use. 

If you paid attention to the poll returns all night, you noticed that the controlled media was right – the Republicans would appear to be ahead and, then, late at night, the Democrats would win. Premeditated cheating: Check! This is exactly what happened in 2020. And to think it’s normal and legitimate for the Democrats to suddenly win by slim margins late at night stretches credulity. 

Feelings and beliefs don’t trump facts and truth. However, common sense is very important in these matters. Does anyone believe, on a gut level, that the Democrats held their own in this election after having so blatantly destroyed the country the past two years? Everyone honest American knows his purchasing power is down, supply lines are strained, the country is more divided, the government lies, the justice system prosecutes patriots, the medical establishment was not only wrong but malicious regarding vaccination and the Coronahoax scamdemic, the regime has us on the verge of world war, and so on, yet the American People supposedly voted for those who are responsible? That’s what the media is selling, but I’m not buying it. 

As ignorant as the American People often are, we aren’t that ignorant. I think, one day, in the next life, people will be stunned to see how many elections – beginning long before 2020 – were stolen by the conspiracy and how often the voice of the People was overthrown. There is plenty of evidence, for instance, that Mitt Romney – as despicable a charlatan as he is – won the presidential election over Obama in 2012. That election swindle isn’t even on anyone’s radar, yet it’s one example of so many of our elections being stolen. 

The only reason people are aware of election rigging now is because of how blatant and overt the theft was in 2020. Had it not been so unreasonable to assume that Beijing Biden, who barely campaigned, couldn’t draw a crowd, and couldn’t hide his dementia, beat a wildly popular Donald Trump with unprecedented crowds and the best record of any president in at least a generation, most people probably would’ve shrugged at a Trump defeat. 

As it is, everyone with any shred of honesty and common sense (and anyone who bothered to research the issue beyond what CNN and mainstream propaganda outlets say) knows that President Trump easily won on election night. It was only after the counting was mysteriously halted across multiple key states where Trump was comfortably ahead that fake ballots – many having been printed in China – were poured into the tabulators literally by the millions to change the outcomes. That’s so well-documented that no one can deny it at this point. Don’t you recall watching the videos of George poll workers pulling out hidden suitcases of ballots after hours and running them through the machines? The fraud was massive! Watch the documentary film “2000 Mules” if you need further convincing or want more video evidence (here is a special look into the film that includes an interview with President Trump). 

And though the “paper” trail is slightly harder to document and doesn’t have the same type of video evidence, it is also widely documented that many voting machines were being hacked and manipulated, and votes were changed in large quantities, in real time by an international conglomerate of nefarious nations. Conspirators working out of China, Canada, Venezuela, Russia, and beyond, have all been caught manipulating votes in America. It was a coordinated attack on America by domestic and foreign traitors. It was, frankly, a communist coup. 

However, as I pointed out above, the same traitors who stole the 2020 election were the ones in charge of the elections last night. They had no compunction stealing the election in 2020 and they had no compunction stealing it last night. There are two reasons for this. First, they have no morals and will do literally anything for power, including steal elections, unleash plagues, lie, or start a war. That’s obvious. It’s part of the communist creed that the ends justify the means. 

Second, why wouldn’t they use their tried-and-true tactic? They know that the American People took it sitting down last time. We grumbled and waved some flags, sure, but we didn’t revolt as we should have. We didn’t burn down the country like BLM and Antifa. We didn’t prosecute anyone. We didn’t demand it remain the key issue in the news until it was rectified. We didn’t storm government buildings, the January 6th myth notwithstanding. We really didn’t do anything except complain on the internet. We allowed the duly elected president to be ramrodded and thrust out of office while we sat around on our hands. 

There is an interesting feature of criminal psychology that we should be aware of. Many criminals think we deserve to be victimized if we are too stupid or if we won’t fight back. The great historian and former FBI agent W. Cleon Skousen once gave an example of this. He said that if you invited a known thief to your home, you were essentially telling him, “I’m so careless and stupid to permit a thief to enter my home that I deserve to be robbed. Also, because I’m so stupid, I clearly don’t deserve all of this nice stuff I have.” And so it is with the political criminals we face. If they push, and we backpedal, then we deserve to be pushed! Last night’s election is more evidence of this principle at play. 

As we witness yet more stolen elections in places like Arizona (though the full results are not in yet and some of the races may yet flip when/if all the voting machine “glitches” get sorted out and the corrupt regulators get around to counting the hundreds of thousands of uncounted ballots), we should realize that our “peaceful” reaction to having our sovereignty smashed and our voice silenced two years ago only emboldened the criminals and assured that the vaunted “red wave” was mellow and pathetic. They will do it again next time, too, if indeed there even is a 2024 election. We have only ourselves to blame. As I said before the election, the madness wasn’t going to end and, in fact, it would only get worse. 

Two days ago, I wrote

“Let me be clear, without fraud like in 2020, Republicans are going to win tomorrow. But does it matter much? Elections do matter and can change policies – simply observe the Biden regime’s growing nightmare of the past two years. However, in the grand scheme of things, will an election save the world? Will an election change the course of human history? Will an election keep wars, plagues, famine, natural disasters, and evil at bay? Will an election change the hearts of men and cause them to usher in the Millennial reign of the Messiah? . . . . 

“At the end of the day, we have to sincerely make the choice to be better and do better. We have to choose to care enough to change. We have to do what is right, not what is expedient, popular, or easy. We have to repent and reform. We have to pay the price to educate ourselves and our loves ones. We have to sacrifice to regain the Liberty we have lost. We have to fight as our Founding Fathers fought to restore the Republic.  

“None of this is easy and it requires a full-spectrum approach. One election won’t move the dial far enough; fixing things will require a radical reformation of our faith, our families, our communities, our election system, our education system, our entertainment choices, our public and private morality, our free speech laws, our health choices, our preaching, our discipline, our work ethic, and so forth. . . . 

“What awaits mankind from now until the Lord returns is “wars and rumors of wars among all the nations” and all the other judgments mentioned above. It is delusion to believe that the next election will solve everything or that reelecting Donald Trump will fix our problems or that joining international bodies like NATO or the UN will help or that giving billions of dollars to the state of Israel will curry favor with God. Mark my words, though there may be a momentary sigh of relief if the Republicans are allowed to win without having the election stolen, the international situation will go from bad to worse. . . . 

“Please, go vote. Please, vote for principle over party. Please, support our divinely inspired Constitution. Please, be actively engaged in defending truth and promoting Faith, Families, and Freedom. However, don’t be deluded. Don’t put your faith in politics. Don’t believe an election will change everything. Don’t put your faith in men – Donald Trump or otherwise – who ultimately can’t stop the judgments that have been decreed by Heaven. . . . 

“No, we won’t have an easy go of it, fellow Christian. Things will get much worse, regardless of who wins tomorrow’s election; be ready for it and don’t lose faith. We’ve barely entered the danger zone and the worst is yet to come.” 

Not much needs to be said except, I was right. Those who put their faith in the election had their faith shaken. Those who put their faith in men – or women, like Kari Lake – are likely shocked and reeling. Those who thought Americans were going to overwhelm the election stealers despite not doing anything last time to reverse the steal and prosecute the criminals, are probably again confused at what went wrong. And, finally, those who haven’t done anything to reform their lives and who live without God perhaps have a hollow feeling or a sense of despair and uncertainty for the future. 

Holy writ doesn’t do much to bolster our faith in temporal salvation. Instead, prophecy is quite clear that we are in a time of suffering and tribulation; a time when Satan will rule, tyranny will reign, corruption will be rampant, and sin will increase. The Savior was clear that trials would increase, not decrease, before His Second Coming. Brace yourself; it’s only going to get crazier from here on out

Finally, regarding predictions, I want to remind you all of something I predicted in September; namely, that the Marxist Establishment won’t allow Donald Trump to win in 2024. President Trump is apparently set to formally announce his candidacy for 2024 next week. He won’t win; he won’t be allowed to. In September, I reasoned: 

“They [i.e. the corrupt Establishment] also know that the evidence of their election theft is ironclad and they are using their experienced mechanism of mind manipulation to hide it, ignore it, and distort it. They are confident they will win because they know that if the American People had any spirit, they would rebel and reinstate their rightful president. Since Americans lack the spirit of their forefathers in sufficient measure and, instead of manly action, want to settle things at the rigged ballot box, the criminals have pulled out all the stops to prevent Trump from running in 2024. They will, however, use force if we begin to man up and start rebelling in the American tradition. . . . 

“The longer President Trump delays announcing his bid for 2024, the more opportunities the shadow government has of indicting him or concocting some other reason why he can’t run in 2024. They have raided his Mar-a-Lago home, tampered with evidence, called for his indictment and arrest, and are now falsely screeching that Trump is calling for insurrection before the midterm election. They are showing their hand. They are projecting.   

“They were also projecting in 2020 when they said that Trump would cancel the election or use the military to stay in power. I believe this is what might happen in 2024; some are predicting it will happen before the upcoming midterms. I personally don’t think a military rollout will happen before November, but I also don’t believe that Beijing Biden will survive until the 2024 election. When Biden is removed, the final steps will be rapidly taken to cement a dictatorship in America. It will fail; but O, the blood it will cost to dismantle! 

“In my June 2021 article “The Coming Assassination False Flag,” I articulated my view that the Luciferian cabal will act to remove Biden and Kamala jointly and establish some form of dictatorship or continuity of government situation prior to the 2024 election – an election they know they would lose if fairly conducted (just like they lost in 2020 to less awake and pissed off electorate).  

“I posited in that article that they may pull an assassination of the puppet president and vice-president, blame it on Trump supporters or “right-wing extremists” or even on a foreign power like Iran, and, then, like Skull & Bonesman George W. Bush did post-9/11, suspend civil Liberties or even the U.S. Constitution. There are myriad executive orders and acts relative to a continuity of government on the books and the current regime is gearing up to implement them. They only need a sufficient pretext – real or provocateured – to use them. . . . 

“Can they pull the same stunts time and time again before America wakes up? The Elites’ false flags and lies are starting to fall on deaf ears and even Democrats are abandoning their party. But that’s the brilliance of the idea I have outlined – it doesn’t require common consent, but only one faction to voice their consent. The Elite have always wanted a civil war, but they have always wanted it on their terms and framed in a very specific way to scapegoat true patriots for their own crimes. This is why they project so routinely.  

“When they say that “MAGA Republicans” are threats to the country, they are secretly revealed that they are the threats. When they say that we are “insurrectionists,” they betray the fact that they are insurrectionists waging a generational war against our institutions. When they say that we are preparing to overthrow the government or commit acts of violence, they are planning to do so.  

“That’s what is coming – a public coup, an overthrow of the Republic, a top-down revolt against the People by a clique of gangsters who have seized key positions of power and now want to eviscerate Liberty completely. However, it will be done in the name of protecting America against internal enemies (i.e. dissidents who try to stop the hostile takeover) or avenging some horrible deed, such as an assassination or terror attack. The media will beat the war drums and the flag will be used to cover this naked attack on America. . . . 

“The Democrats have stolen numerous elections big and small, so they have no compunction doing so. However, they know that the American People are now aware of their fraud and won’t stand for it too many times. So, while they plan to steal more elections as a short-term policy, they know that simply controlling one, or even both, Establishment political parties is a dead end.  

“That leaves them with the second option – “fomenting internal civil war.” Since this is something they have been planning for decades, they’re not overly worried; especially since the American People are divided and are at each other’s throats. They know that though we outnumber them by a vast majority, we will fall if we are divided. . . . 

“God will never abandon a righteous remnant on this special covenant land of America. Jesus Christ is the God of the land and we must serve Him. Those who do will be blessed, upheld, and preserved through the coming days. This is called the “tribulation” for a reason. It won’t be easy. We will watch our Republic be stolen from us by traitors and tyrants. We will watch our champions be killed or prosecuted. We will watch foreign nations and international entities rip us apart as the traitors in government do nothing but foment discord and civil war. Peace will be taken from the earth and the only place we will be able to turn for safety is Heaven.

“Only fools put their trust in men. Donald Trump won’t and can’t save us. No white knight is coming to rescue us. No George Washington is going to step up and lead with his commanding presence and iron will. Only God, whose land America is, can save us. And He can only save us when we repent, turn to Him, trust in Him, enter into His covenants, and live as His warriors of light and truth.  

“President Trump may run in 2024 – I would be shocked if he didn’t – but those who stole victory from him in 2020 are entrenched in power and they will do it again, even if they have to start a civil war, carry out false-flag terrorism, kill their own puppet-in-chief, install a dictatorship, and smash the entire sham government and society to do it. We may or may not even have an election in 2024, depending on whether the Elite can find a way to remove Trump from the running and/or replace Biden with a stronger tyrant.  

“We are at the end of the line. The American Republic has run its course. The principles of Liberty are eternal and the U.S. Constitution is inspired; they will continue. A righteous and well-prepared remnant will be preserved. But a Bolshevik dictatorship is going to be installed and tyranny will reign, for however brief a time. It will be established in blood, it will gorge itself on blood, and it will die in blood. The fall of Babylon is a prophetic certainty, yet so is the carnage it will perpetrate as it dies.” 

Folks, the tribulation is about to get real. The Republicans didn’t save you yesterday and they won’t save you in 2024. There may not even be an election in 2024! I think our nation is heading for cataclysm within the next two years or so. Can you honestly imagine that the same people who unleashed a plague and are committing vaccine genocide will just fade away? Not hardly! No election will defeat them. And will we ever have a fair election again anyway? Pray tell, how is Donald Trump going to win in 2024 if he couldn’t “stop the steal” against him in 2020? He had the power of the presidency and yet he still couldn’t “stop the steal.” How in the world will he be able to prevent it in 2024? Answer: He won’t be able to. He may not even get the opportunity to have it stolen from him if the world continues to spiral at the rate it is currently. 

Any way you slice it, yesterday’s election was a farce on its face. It was a blatant steal – just as blatant as in 2020. From voting machines strategically going offline or breaking only in Republican strongholds or numerous people being disenfranchised by someone who voted in their place and under their name to giant spikes that are statistically impossible being inputted in late at night in key areas to trucks arriving at polling places late in the night to unload mysterious ballots, the theft is just as brazen now as in 2020. Forgive me for saying it, but you’re a mental midget if you can’t see it. And you don’t have integrity or a spine if you won’t openly say it was a stolen election. If you can’t even say the truth, cease calling yourself an American or a patriot. 

I want to cover two more points before closing. First, Republicans have again identified themselves as the real obstacle to progress in America. Second, third parties may continue to rise and play an important role in shaping American politics. 

First, the Republican Party has shown its true colors yet again in this election. Republicans are turncoats. They’re traitors almost as bad as the Democrats – especially the Establishment types. We love to heap hate on the Democrats, but we turn a blind eye to the Republicans’ perfidy. Republicans have waged illegal wars, driven us into greater debt, closed down the economy, pushed radical vaccine genocide, pushed unconstitutional laws and amendments, compromised on major issues, protected businesses and banks that should’ve failed, bowed to international interests, kissed the ring of the internationalists, sold our sovereignty to the United Nations and NATO, and so on. 

In many instances, there is no substantive difference between a Republican and a Democrat. For example, in the Pennsylvania race between Democrat John Fetterman and Republican Dr. Oz, though Fetterman is unequivocally more brain dead and Lurch-like, it really doesn’t matter much because Dr. Oz is so lukewarm in his constitutional principles. I would almost rather see all Republicans lose if it would shock American patriots into coherence and finally wake them up to the awful reality. 

Even though Republicans are victims of massive fraud, they have only themselves to blame. Yes, I am victim blaming! In the first place, Republicans don’t have more popular support because they have compromised so much on the principles of Liberty and have been wishy-washy on Americanism. I don’t vote Republican and that is precisely why; I value the Constitution and correct principles too much to lower myself to vote Republican. Secondly, after being cheated out of the elections in 2020, Republicans have done next to nothing to rectify the situation! It’s almost as if the Establishment Republicans threw the match and wanted to lose. 

Look, Democrats are pure evil. They are Marxists by another name. I don’t expect anything good from them. I expect them to lie, cheat, and steal. I expect them to sell out the country. Republicans, on the other hand, talk a good talk. They claim to be America-first patriots. They give lip service to the Constitution. They supposedly support the family and are outwardly Christians. Because of this, I hold them to a much higher standard. 

It is more offense to me, and a greater betrayal, to see a Republican do anything against the Constitution because they should be better than that. Democrats are at least mostly honest about wanting to shut down and wreck the country. Duplicitous Republicans, therefore, are the chief obstacle to progress in America. The sooner patriots leave the Republican Party and elect non-affiliated or third-party candidates who love the Constitution, understand Freedom, and are upright before God, the better. 

This brings me to my last of the two points; namely, that this election highlights not only the need, but the possibility, of one or more third parties rising to prominence. I have finally started hearing some patriots say things like, “Maybe we just need to let the Republican Party burn and start a new party.” Third-party candidates and independents were prominent in the state of Utah. I know a little something about this. 

Many of my readers know that in 2014 I ran for the U.S. House of Representatives out of Utah’s 3rd District under the Independent American Party banner. That year, the treasonous Republicans in government banned all third-party candidates from the debates in total contravention of law. Nevertheless, as an unknown third-party candidate with no social network or website behind me, no money to campaign, and who was prohibited from the debates, I still brought in 3,192 votes and came in third behind the Republican and Democrat candidates. 

The Independent American Party (IAP) has enjoyed a gradually rising presence in Utah. This election, for the position of Utah County Clerk, Jake Oaks, a personal friend, took second place with over 13% of the vote. He ran on the Independent American Party ticket. For the position of U.S. Senator, Tommy Williams gained over 8,300 votes for the IAP. In that same race, Evan McMullin, who is an Establishment plant, ran as “unaffiliated,” taking second place with 41.6% of the vote behind Republican Mike Lee. Also for senate, the Libertarian candidate James Hansen took 18,500 votes. If patriots are sincere about caring for America, third parties like the Independent American Party or Constitution Party are great vehicles that can be used to restore the nation. 

In other states, a few races were affected by third-party voting. In the Georgia U.S. Senate race between Herschel Walker and the Marxist Raphael Warnock, the current vote difference is about 35,000. 81,000 votes went to the Libertarian Party candidate Chase Oliver. In the big race between Fetterman and Oz in Pennsylvania, the current difference is 191,000. Three third-party candidates, combined, received votes totaling about 126,000. Not necessarily enough to change the outcome of the election, but enough to make it very close and less decisive. 

As more and more Americans become disaffected by the Republicans and Democrats – especially as the Democrats continue to steal everything and Republicans continue to allow it and betray their principles – more people will flow to these smaller parties. People say third parties are not “viable.” Hogwash. They’re as viable as people make them. The Republican Party would cease to be viable tomorrow if sufficient quantities of patriots left its ranks. The Independent American Party or Constitution Party – the two best third parties, in my opinion – stand waiting to receive Republican refugees with open arms. If you care about the Constitution and the principles of Liberty, how can you still vote Republican, let alone Democrat? 

To close, let me simply reiterate that this midterm election was stolen by the Establishment in favor of the Democrats. It is still early, but we already know much about the tactics that were used last night to swindle the vote. And know that, regardless of whether the Republicans manage to get a few more seats or even governorships, nothing will truly change in America’s favor. Turn to God and repent – this is the way; the only way.

Brace Yourself – Things Will Be Crazier After the Election

This article is for my fellow Christian believers, though truth is applicable to all people. I ask you, fellow believer in Christ, what in all the scriptures suggests that things in the world will get better before the Second Coming of the Savior? I ask this question on the eve of the important midterm election in the United States. So many people believe that life will improve after this election, or, at least, after the presidential election in 2024. Why do they believe that? Does scripture warrant such a hope? I submit it does not. 

Let me be clear, without fraud like in 2020, Republicans are going to win tomorrow. But does it matter much? Elections do matter and can change policies – simply observe the Biden regime’s growing nightmare of the past two years. However, in the grand scheme of things, will an election save the world? Will an election change the course of human history? Will an election keep wars, plagues, famine, natural disasters, and evil at bay? Will an election change the hearts of men and cause them to usher in the Millennial reign of the Messiah? 

Though elections can help change policies here and there and can materially impact how we live, they don’t change our hearts, heal our societal wounds, blot out our sins, vanquish wickedness, squelch animosity, prevent hatred, eliminate greed, or do anything to affect those things which are the true cause of society’s problems. As important as government is, government does not cause all our problems; we cause our problems through our wickedness, ignorance, and apathy. It is wicked, ignorant, and apathetic people who allow demagogues and despots to get into sensitive positions of power and do their damage. 

John Adams remarked: 

“The only foundation of a free constitution is pure virtue, and if this cannot be inspired into our people in a greater measure than they have it now, they may change their rulers and the forms of government, but they will not obtain a lasting liberty. They will only exchange tyrants and tyrannies” (John Adams to Zabdiel Adams, June 21, 1776). 

A close associate of John Adams, Caleb Strong, made this similar observation: 

“[W]e are generally apt to ascribe too much to the efficacy of laws and government, as if they alone could secure the happiness of the people; but no laws will be sufficient to counteract the influence of manners which are corrupted by vice and voluptuousness; and it is beyond the power of any government to render the circumstances of the citizens easy and prosperous, if they want the habits of industry and frugality. – Government is necessary, to preserve the public peace, the persons and property of individuals; but our social happiness must chiefly depend upon other causes; upon simplicity and purity of manners; upon the education that we give our children; upon a steady adherence to the customs and institutions of our ancestors; upon the general diffusion of knowledge, and the prevalence of piety and benevolent affections among the people.  

“Our forms of government, are, doubtless, like all other institutions, imperfect; but they will ensure the blessings of freedom to the citizens, and preserve their tranquillity, so long as they are virtuous; and no constitution, that has been, or can be formed, will secure those blessings to a depraved and vicious people” (Caleb Strong, January 17, 1806, in Patriotism and Piety, 138). 

John Witherspoon agreed with his fellow Founders, stating: 

“Nothing is more certain than that a general profligacy and corruption of manners make a people ripe for destruction. A good form of government may hold the rotten materials together for some time, but beyond a certain pitch, even the best constitution will be ineffectual, and slavery must ensue. On the other hand, when the manners of a nation are pure, when true religion and internal principles maintain their vigor, the attempts of the most powerful enemies to oppress them are commonly baffled and disappointed” (John Witherspoon, “The Dominion of Providence over the Passions of Man,” May 17, 1776). 

Finally, President George Washington admonished: 

“Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports. In vain would that man claim the tribute of patriotism, who should labor to subvert these great pillars of human happiness, these firmest props of the duties of men and citizens” (George Washington, Farewell Address, 1796). 

These noble souls were right. We will only change one tyrant for another until we become virtuous and good. If we are rotten, it doesn’t matter how good our system of government is – we will fall. Our Constitution, as amazing and inspired it is, can’t hold together a nation whose people lack self-discipline and morality. It doesn’t matter how much we wave the flag, show our outward patriotism, and pretend to be pious, if, inwardly, our immoral lives “subvert these great pillars of human happiness.” 

At the end of the day, it really doesn’t matter how good, brilliant, or resourceful the statesmen we elect are if we are corrupt, amoral, greedy, decadent, and prideful. We could elect George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, or Andrew Jackson and they could do but little to staunch our national wounds. We could have the apostles walking among us preaching pure principles of eternal truth and our situation wouldn’t be any better; if we reject their words in writing, it would be no different if they were here in person. 

At the end of the day, we have to sincerely make the choice to be better and do better. We have to choose to care enough to change. We have to do what is right, not what is expedient, popular, or easy. We have to repent and reform. We have to pay the price to educate ourselves and our loves ones. We have to sacrifice to regain the Liberty we have lost. We have to fight as our Founding Fathers fought to restore the Republic. 

None of this is easy and it requires a full-spectrum approach. One election won’t move the dial far enough; fixing things will require a radical reformation of our faith, our families, our communities, our election system, our education system, our entertainment choices, our public and private morality, our free speech laws, our health choices, our preaching, our discipline, our work ethic, and so forth. 

Prophecy is given so that we can heed it and change the prophesied unpleasant outcome. Jonah was sent to preach to Nineveh so they would repent. And they did! They repented in sackcloth and ashes and the Lord spared them at that time. We may similarly avert the outcomes decreed for our wicked world if we will repent in sackcloth and ashes. 

Retaining our same bad habits, guarding our ignorance, and cultivating our apathy on the other 364 days of the year, won’t be changed by an election. It requires so much more! I ask again, what in scripture suggests to our minds that quick political fixes can protect us from the prophesied consequences of sin, unbelief, and immorality? 

The Savior Jesus Christ gave us a master class on the conditions that would prevail on earth before His return in glory. Among other things, He foretold: 

“Take heed that no man deceive you. 

“For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. 

“And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 

“For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. . . . 

“And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. 

“And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. 

“But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. . . . 

“For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. 

“And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those adays shall be shortened. 

“Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. 

“For there shall arise falseChrists, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. . . . 

“Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: 

“And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory (Matthew 24:4-7, 11-13, 21-24, 29-30). 

Please note that the Lord said “all these things must come to pass.” Though they could be averted by repentance, they won’t be. The Lord is often called a Prophet; and He was performing the function of a prophet here when He foretold these things. He didn’t say that all would be peachy before His return. He didn’t say that we would have political or economic stability. He didn’t say that we would avoid wars and destructions. 

Quite to the contrary, the Lord said that wars would rage, the hearts of men would become cold and hard, false Christs would appear, deception would abound, even some of the elect followers of Christ would fall by the wayside, famine would take its toll, plagues would ravage nations, earthquakes would topple cities, suffering would be universal, and the whole earth would exterminate itself if He did not return to cut short the madness. Moreover, He said that these ghastly happenings would only end when He returns to stop them. Please tell me how this factors into the “everything will be different after the next election” mindset. 

The Lord is not a silent God. He did not speak in the past only to remain silent today. That is an anti-Biblical heresy. Rather, revelation continues to this day. In modern times, the Lord has added more ominous judgments to the list He anciently gave in His ministry. For instance, speaking of the time preceding the Resurrection and Judgement, He has forewarned us: 

“I say unto you that before this great day shall come the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall be turned into blood, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and there shall be greater signs in heaven above and in the earth beneath; 

“And there shall be weeping and wailing among the hosts of men; 

“And there shall be a great hailstorm sent forth to destroy the crops of the earth. 

“And it shall come to pass, because of the wickedness of the world, that I will take vengeance upon the wicked, for they will not repent; for the cup of mine indignation is full; for behold, my blood shall not cleanse them if they hear me not. 

“Wherefore, I the Lord God will send forth flies upon the face of the earth, which shall take hold of the inhabitants thereof, and shall eat their flesh, and shall cause maggots to come in upon them; 

“And their tongues shall be stayed that they shall not utter against me; and their flesh shall fall from off their bones, and their eyes from their sockets; 

“And it shall come to pass that the beasts of the forest and the fowls of the air shall devour them up. 

“And the great and abominable church, which is the whore of all the earth, shall be cast down by devouring fire, according as it is spoken by the mouth of Ezekiel the prophet, who spoke of these things, which have not come to pass but surely must, as I live, for abominations shall not reign” (Doctrine and Covenants 29:14-21). 

Does that sound pleasant? No, it will be horrific! The fact that these horrors are conditional is confirmed in the line “if they hear me not.” However, the fact that many will not hear Him or follow Him is confirmed in the same verse in these words “I will take vengeance upon the wicked, for they will not repent.” 

Unless we repent, we will all suffer God’s wrath. We are a wicked world. We have, collectively, rejected Him. Even Christendom as a whole has rejected His Gospel light, opting to cling to man-made theories, traditions, and creeds instead of divine wisdom and revelation. 

This gross unbelief, wickedness, and rebellion are spurred on by “the great and abominable church, which is the whore of all the earth.” This entity, Satan’s counterfeit church and kingdom, was foreseen by numerous ancient seers. The Apostle John foresaw the destruction of Babylon, which is the same “great and abominable church” mentioned here, and said that its devotees – specifically those who profited from its beastly global system – would mourn its sudden and thorough collapse:  

“And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more. . . . 

“And the fruits that thy soul lusted after are departed from thee, and all things which were dainty and goodly are departed from thee, and thou shalt find them no more at all. 

“The merchants of these things, which were made rich by her, shall stand afar off for the fear of her torment, weeping and wailing, 

“And saying, Alas, alas, that great city, that was clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls! 

“For in one hour so great riches is come to nought. And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off, 

“And cried when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, What city is like unto this great city! . . . . 

“And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all” (Revelation 18:11, 14-18, 21). 

Will this total collapse of Babylon and its sprawling economic system happen peacefully? Evidently not. It will happen “with violence.” It will be a cataclysmic event that will rock the world. There will be a cascade of side effects, including famine, rioting, and near universal despair. Wealth will evaporate and all the “precious” worldly things will “come to nought.” Does it sound to you like our upcoming election will stave off this foreseen collapse of Babylon and everything associated with it? 

One final prophecy of the destructions promised for our day seems appropriate. The ancient Israelite prophet Nephi learned the following circa 600 B.C. from an angel: 

“And it came to pass that he said unto me: Look, and behold that great and abominable church, which is the mother of abominations, whose founder is the devil. 

“And he said unto me: Behold there are save two churches only; the one is the church of the Lamb of God, and the other is the church of the devil; wherefore, whoso belongeth not to the church of the Lamb of God belongeth to that great church, which is the mother of abominations; and she is the whore of all the earth. 

“And it came to pass that I looked and beheld the whore of all the earth, and she sat upon many waters; and she had dominion over all the earth, among all nations, kindreds, tongues, and people. 

“And it came to pass that I beheld the church of the Lamb of God, and its numbers were few, because of the wickedness and abominations of the whore who sat upon many waters; nevertheless, I beheld that the church of the Lamb, who were the saints of God, were also upon all the face of the earth; and their dominions upon the face of the earth were small, because of the wickedness of the great whore whom I saw. 

“And it came to pass that I beheld that the great mother of abominations did gather together multitudes upon the face of all the earth, among all the nations of the Gentiles, to fight against the Lamb of God. 

“And it came to pass that I, Nephi, beheld the power of the Lamb of God, that it descended upon the saints of the church of the Lamb, and upon the covenant people of the Lord, who were scattered upon all the face of the earth; and they were armed with righteousness and with the power of God in great glory. 

“And it came to pass that I beheld that the wrath of God was poured out upon that great and abominable church, insomuch that there were wars and rumors of wars among all the nations and kindreds of the earth. 

“And as there began to be wars and rumors of wars among all the nations which belonged to the mother of abominations, the angel spake unto me, saying: Behold, the wrath of God is upon the mother of harlots; and behold, thou seest all these things— 

“And when the day cometh that the wrath of God is poured out upon the mother of harlots, which is the great and abominable church of all the earth, whose founder is the devil, then, at that day, the work of the Father shall commence, in preparing the way for the fulfilling of his covenants, which he hath made to his people who are of the house of Israel” (1 Nephi 14:9-17). 

There is a lot to unpackage here, but we can boil it down to two major points: 1) There are only two options, the Devil’s team or the Lord’s; and 2) if you choose the Devil’s side, you are guaranteed to reap the wrath of God. 

It should be noted that the “house of Israel” referred to is not the nation-state of Israel. In fact, Israel is one of the nations fighting against the Lord’s work at the present time. Because of the Abrahamic covenant and the promises the Lord made to His ancient seers, however, after they are chastened and come to learn and love the Lord, they will be supernaturally protected and the Lord will appear to them and make them the holy nation they were always destined to be. However, through the Lord, all may become part of the House of Israel through entering into sacred covenants beginning with baptism. 

What awaits mankind from now until the Lord returns is “wars and rumors of wars among all the nations” and all the other judgments mentioned above. It is delusion to believe that the next election will solve everything or that reelecting Donald Trump will fix our problems or that joining international bodies like NATO or the UN will help or that giving billions of dollars to the state of Israel will curry favor with God. Mark my words, though there may be a momentary sigh of relief if the Republicans are allowed to win without having the election stolen, the international situation will go from bad to worse. 

We haven’t seen the end of earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanic eruptions, droughts, and fires; what we’ve seen so far is just the beginning. We haven’t seen the end of wars; the last major world war is coming. We haven’t seen the global famines or hailstorms predicted; those are in the not-too-distant future. We haven’t seen the fall of Babylon and its economic system; economic collapse is still coming.  

Please, go vote. Please, vote for principle over party. Please, support our divinely inspired Constitution. Please, be actively engaged in defending truth and promoting Faith, Families, and Freedom. However, don’t be deluded. Don’t put your faith in politics. Don’t believe an election will change everything. Don’t put your faith in men – Donald Trump or otherwise – who ultimately can’t stop the judgments that have been decreed by Heaven. 

Prepare for natural disasters; have an earthquake plan. Prepare for economic collapse; have a food storage set aside. Prepare for nuclear war; it is very possible to survive. Prepare temporally and also get yourself right with God. Learn to pray and use discernment. Study the scriptures. Heed the words of the prophets. Repent. Honor the Lord’s Sabbath. Pay tithing. Be charitable. Respect your physical bodies as temples. Cultivate the Holy Spirit. And follow the Master with total trust that He will fulfill all His promises and deliver His Saints

No, we won’t have an easy go of it, fellow Christian. Things will get much worse, regardless of who wins tomorrow’s election; be ready for it and don’t lose faith. We’ve barely entered the danger zone and the worst is yet to come. However, John told us what to do when we see Babylon tremble and fall. Said he: 

“Rejoice over her, thou heaven, and ye holy apostles and prophets; for God hath avenged you on her” (Revelation 18:20). 

When things become hard and oppressive and depressing, as they will regardless of which corrupt political party rules in Washington, remember the Lord’s promise: 

“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 

“Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 

“For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light” (Matthew 11:28-30). 

I testify of Jesus Christ. He is the Messiah. He has overcome all things and stands with open arms to receive us and make us victorious with Him. He doesn’t want the world to suffer, but, rather, has provided a way for all who will believe in Him and act on His commands to avoid the brunt of the judgments He is preparing to send. He is the Lord, the Savior, the King of kings and He is returning to the earth soon. No matter the results of tomorrow’s election, brace yourself; earth will be in a crescendo of insanity, turmoil, and darkness until the glorious day when the King will return.

Love is Love . . . Except When It’s Lust

Now that Sodom and Gomorrah Remembrance Month is in our rearview mirror, let’s talk. You were no doubt inundated on social media and TV with pro-LGBT messages like “love is love,” “love has no gender,” and “love only knows equality.” We’ve been force fed “gay pride” and “gay rights” at every turn. Everything has been bathed in rainbow colors. The queer flag has been raised across the world at U.S. embassies. This homosexual agenda is Satanic, dangerous to society, and based on numerous lies. I want to speak about the biggest of those lies today. 

People who are afflicted by homosexuality, and their vocal cheerleaders in the press and online, are laboring under a sinister delusion. They believe that homosexual lust is “love.” It’s not. It never will be. In fact, it’s impossible for homosexual lust to ever be love. You heard me correctly: There was never a homosexual who possessed true romantic love towards another homosexual – only lust.

This is so for several reasons. The easiest reason to explain is that the Apostle John said that “God is love.” God is love and He has forbidden homosexuality. It is therefore a contradiction to suppose that so-called homosexual “love” comes from or is recognized by the One who is love and who also forbade homosexuality. This is basic logic. 

But if two plus two doesn’t equal four for some of you, looking at John’s teaching in context might do the trick. He explained further what love is and where it comes from: 

“[E]very spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. 

“Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. 

“They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them. 

“We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error. 

“Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. 

“He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. 

“In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. 

“Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 

“Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another” (1 John 4:3-11). 

Love is a gift of God. Love is linked to righteousness. Love is exemplified by the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Those who are born of God, or reborn through Christ, are those who become filled with pure love. 

Those who accept Jesus Christ hear God and know the spirit of truth. Or, at least, they should be able to recognize error. Christian disciples are called to “love one another” in the same way that God loves us. Those who don’t love in this way don’t truly know God, and don’t truly love, because this type of love is God and comes from Him. So, John said, “herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.” 

The word “propitiation” means to appease God. Christ’s “propitiation for our sins” appeases the eternal demands of justice that come upon all of us because we have all sinned and fallen short (Romans 3:23). In return, the Son of God requires certain things of us. We can’t appease, please, or satisfy God, therefore, without following His Son Jesus Christ and living according to His teachings. 

The Lord frankly and openly taught how to receive His and our Heavenly Father’s incredible love and what it means to honestly love God: 

“If ye love me, keep my commandments. . . . 

“He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. . . . 

“If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. 

“He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father’s which sent me” (John 14:15, 21, 23-24). 

According to Jesus, true love equals obedience to God’s laws. It means honoring His teachings, keeping His commandments, and following Him down the pathway of righteousness. Only those who “keep my words,” or who sincerely try to do so, will “be loved of the Father, and I will love him.” Those who do not do the will of Christ and keep His commandments have no such promise and walk in darkness. 

Again, Christ is the exemplification of love. And what did Christ do? He said: “I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me” (John 6:38). He later testified: “And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him” (John 8:29).

If we want to always have the spirit and presence of God, we must likewise do those things that please Him. We must do the will of the Father, which is revealed in the teachings of our Savior Jesus Christ. Long before the Son of God came into mortality, He had revealed to His ancient prophets the truth that keeping the commandments is central to the Gospel Plan. “Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man” (Ecclesiastes 12:13). Of those commandments that we are duty-bound to keep, the mortal Messiah listed two as cardinal: 

“Thou shalt the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy cmind. 

“This is the first and great commandment. 

“And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 

“On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets” (Matthew 22:37-40). 

Loving God is the first and highest commandment of them all. As we’ve seen, we can’t please God without following His Son Jesus Christ and following His commandments. The second great commandment is to love others – to love them in the pure and undefiled way Christ loves us. This is the type of crystalline love that led the Lord to voluntarily sacrifice Himself in Gethsemane and on the Cross. The Savior proclaimed: 

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 

“For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved” (John 3:16-17). 

God is our Father. He doesn’t want to condemn us. He doesn’t want to punish us. He doesn’t want to lose us to that malevolent being who tempts us to follow a darker, lower, meaner path. Rather, He sent His perfect Son, Jesus Christ, to light the world with love and to show us a higher and holier way of living. He sent His son to atone for our sins, die on the Cross, and rise from the grave to prepare the path so that we who are not as perfect as He was could one day, through obedience, become “heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ” (Romans 8:17). 

Jesus does not give us commandments and rules in order to restrict us from having a good time, to oppress us, or to make us miserable. Quite the contrary. He said: “I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly” (John 10:10). As the only perfect Person to ever walk this earth, He knows what He’s talking about. 

A righteous life is an abundant life. It is a lifestyle that merits the unsurpassed love of God. It is a lifestyle that allows Heavenly light to penetrate the darkness of this world and illuminate our souls. It is a life of peace, comfort, and joy (John 13:17; John 14:18, 27). It is a life that allows the Redeemer to redeem and the Savior to save. He doesn’t require perfection before He showers us with love and spiritual gifts, but He requires our hearts and minds and our sincerest efforts to go about doing good (Acts 10:38). Loving God and loving our neighbors is fundamental to this process of Christian living.

Let’s now consider three specific reasons why homosexuality is a counterfeit of true love. 

Firstly, since the beginning of time, the Lord has defined the proper relationship between men and women. He set gender roles and sexual boundaries. He told Adam and Eve, and, by extension, all of us: “Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it” (Genesis 1:28). It was a command, therefore, for men and women to enter into the marriage covenant and “multiply.” Marriage was essential to God’s Plan and the essential part of marriage was procreation and childbearing. 

How do humans multiply? We multiple through sexual intercourse. It only works when a man and a woman are joined together as “one flesh” (Genesis 2:24). Men and women are spiritually designed to fit together. We are anatomically designed to fit together, too. This is for the purpose of fulfilling the command to multiply and replenish the earth and to solidify unity between the sexes. Procreation simply doesn’t work if two women or two men try it. Homosexual sex, then, is an unnatural aberration that fulfills no purpose other than lust. Thus, fulfilling the Lord’s command to multiply is something only heterosexuals are naturally capable of doing. Remember, keeping the commandments is a prerequisite to pleasing God, following His Son, and truly loving. 

Secondly, the gift of sex was given to humankind with special rules. It was only to be used between men and women and only within the confines of the marriage covenant. Anciently, the Lord told His people: “Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination” (Leviticus 18:22). Homosexuality was considered such an abomination, in fact, that it merited the death penalty (Leviticus 20:13). That penalty was dropped by the Lord when He came and established His Church and introduced a higher law, but He and His apostles continued to preach against homosexuality and all other forms of sexual impurity. 

Additionally, pre-marital sex was strictly forbidden. It was called in both the Old and New Testaments “fornication.” The Apostle Paul taught that “this is the will of God . . . that ye should abstain from fornication” (1 Thessalonians 4:3). Under God’s law, there is no provision for homosexual marriage. Thus, all homosexual liaisons are, by definition, fornication and forbidden. 

Extra-marital sex has also been forbidden by the Lord throughout history. It is known as “adultery.” The Apostle Paul admonished: 

“Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. 

“For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. . . .  

“Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness. . . . 

“. . . of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. . . . 

“And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts” (Galatians 5:16-24). 

Many people throughout time have disregarded these laws, choosing to follow after forbidden lusts instead. We rationalize and justify our lust and our violations of divine law by calling it “love” or by trivializing sex as a base bodily function. “Such is the way of an adulterous woman; she eateth, and wipeth her mouth, and saith, I have done no wickedness” (Proverbs 30:20). But we can’t merely wish away God’s laws or the consequences of immorality. “Can a man take fire in his bosom, and his clothes not be burned?” (Proverb 6:27). 

Taken as a whole, these rules regulating sex can be called the law of chastity. There are only two sins that are greater than breaking the law of chastity; namely, denying the witness of the Holy Spirit after receiving it and murder. The Lord takes sexual impurity very seriously. He condemns and forbids everything from homosexuality to fornication to pornography to rape and beyond. All of these have, as at their core, some form of lust or selfishness. 

Thirdly, some people say “God made me this way” and embrace the illicit desires they have, branding them as “love” to ease their consciences. Let me tell you a truth: God did not make you that way. He did not create you gay. He did not put lust in your heart. He did not implant in you a desire to abandon the path of marriage and procreation. To do so would be to violate His own laws and to contradict the teachings of His Son and prophets. The Apostle James clearly taught: 

“Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: 

“But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed” (James 1:13-14). 

I repeat: God doesn’t make people gay. God does not tempt anyone to do evil. God does not entice anyone to fornicate or commit adultery. It’s contrary to His holy nature, His mercy, and His love. As James said, these forbidden desires are born of lust and are evil. 

But let’s pretend God does create some people gay at birth, even though He absolutely does not. Nevertheless, the commandment to repent, change, and be reborn still applies! It applies to every person on earth regardless of their challenges and inclinations. It applies to people who have problems with thievery, lying, gossiping, substance abuse, pornography, gambling, fornication, adultery, violence, pride, anger, arrogance, impatience, ingratitude, ad infinitum. Jesus called the adulterers, prostitutes, demoniacs, and handicapped to follow Him with as much fervor as He called those with less visible problems, such as the learned Pharisees, to follow Him. He’s the Master Healer and He knows how to heal and mend hearts and lives. 

Jesus powerfully and plainly taught Nicodemus: “Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God” (John 3:5). Could it be any clearer? 

We’re not enough by ourselves. We need Jesus. Our natures are fallen and corrupted. We all sin and do things that we regret or that harm others. It comes with the territory here on planet earth. But we don’t need to let our lusts, our failings, our weaknesses, our sins, or our past define us. We’re better than that. We’re the children of our Heavenly Father! 

Think of it – the King of the universe is our Father! The Creator of worlds without number – the One who walks on water, raises the dead, and calms the raging sea with a single word – is His Son who stands with open arms to receive, lift, and heal all who come to Him regardless of what they were or did in the past. Our Heavenly Father wants to give us everything He has and to see us follow His Son in becoming like Him (Romans 8:16-17; John 10:34). We belong to the family of God Almighty. Shouldn’t that fact alone inspire us to do better and be better?  

Our mission as fallen and sinful individuals is to not embrace the low path, but to throw off our old habits and desires and embrace the higher and holier standard revealed by the Redeemer Jesus Christ. It doesn’t matter what you’ve done or how far you’ve fallen; you can be redeemed! It doesn’t matter how frequently you’ve sinned or screwed up; you can be saved! 

Just as Joseph in Egypt literally ran from sexual temptation when it literally pulled on him, so, too, does the Lord expect us to remember our legs and flee from the snare of sin (Genesis 39:7-21). Paul urged: 

“Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. 

“What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 

“For ye are abought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s” (1 Corinthians 6:18-20). 

As difficult as it may be, our path is clear – we must flee fornication. It doesn’t matter if it is homosexual or heterosexual fornication. It’s wrong either way. It’s lust in both cases; not love. In fact, we are to flee all sin, all error, and all unrighteousness. 

The prodigal son returns

When we slip and fall, there’s a way back. Some mistakes are bigger than others, but all mistakes take us away from God and cause us to lose a measure of His holy light. Repentance is the remedy. To repent simply means to turn away from something. Those with gambling problems must turn away from gambling. Those with anger issues must learn patience. Those with pride must learn humility. And those with sexual problems of all kinds must turn away from them – both in deed and in thought. 

Russell M. Nelson, a powerful Christian leader and example for all believers today, recently gave us these encouraging words about repentance: 

“Nothing is more liberating, more ennobling, or more crucial to our individual progression than is a regular, daily focus on repentance. Repentance is not an event; it is a process. It is the key to happiness and peace of mind. When coupled with faith, repentance opens our access to the power of the Atonement of Jesus Christ. 

“Whether you are diligently moving along the covenant path, have slipped or stepped from the covenant path, or can’t even see the path from where you are now, I plead with you to repent. Experience the strengthening power of daily repentance—of doing and being a little better each day. 

“When we choose to repent, we choose to change! We allow the Savior to transform us into the best version of ourselves. We choose to grow spiritually and receive joy—the joy of redemption in Him. When we choose to repent, we choose to become more like Jesus Christ! 

“Brethren, we need to do better and be better because we are in a battle. The battle with sin is real. The adversary is quadrupling his efforts to disrupt testimonies and impede the work of the Lord. He is arming his minions with potent weapons to keep us from partaking of the joy and love of the Lord. 

“Repentance is the key to avoiding misery inflicted by traps of the adversary. The Lord does not expect perfection from us at this point in our eternal progression. But He does expect us to become increasingly pure. Daily repentance is the pathway to purity, and purity brings power. Personal purity can make us powerful tools in the hands of God. Our repentance—our purity—will empower us to help in the gathering of Israel.” 

How many of us need daily repentance? All of us need it! And the greater our sins, the more we need the healing power of the Lord Jesus Christ. Sometimes we think we have sinned too much, moved too far away, done too many terrible things, to receive the Lord’s forgiveness and healing. I seem to have missed the line in the Bible where it says the Lord won’t heal and embrace those who come to Him. Instead, I remember His words which say: 

“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 

“Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 

“For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light” (Matthew 11:28-30). 

I also recall the words of Paul which urge us to boldly approach the Lord so that His grace can heal us: 

“For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. 

“Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need” (Hebrews 4:15-16). 

Jesus understands. Jesus knows how difficult it is. And He has mercy on those who sincerely approach Him confessing their sins, acknowledging their weaknesses, and laying all their burdens on Him. He wants nothing more than for the prodigal son to return home. He stands ready to receive all who come to Him with open arms. He will give rest to all who believe on His name. 

A modern disciple of the Lord, Elder Jeffrey R. Holland, gave additional encouragement to those who feel lost or who feel weighed down by their sins. He said

“[H]owever late you think you are, however many chances you think you have missed, however many mistakes you feel you have made or talents you think you don’t have, or however far from home and family and God you feel you have traveled, I testify that you have not traveled beyond the reach of divine love. It is not possible for you to sink lower than the infinite light of Christ’s Atonement shines. 

“Whether you are not yet of our faith or were with us once and have not remained, there is nothing in either case that you have done that cannot be undone. There is no problem which you cannot overcome. There is no dream that in the unfolding of time and eternity cannot yet be realized. Even if you feel you are the lost and last laborer of the eleventh hour, the Lord of the vineyard still stands beckoning. “Come boldly [to] the throne of grace,” and fall at the feet of the Holy One of Israel. Come and feast “without money and without price” at the table of the Lord. . . . 

“So if you have made covenants, keep them. If you haven’t made them, make them. If you have made them and broken them, repent and repair them. It is never too late so long as the Master of the vineyard says there is time. Please listen to the prompting of the Holy Spirit telling you right now, this very moment, that you should accept the atoning gift of the Lord Jesus Christ and enjoy the fellowship of His labor. Don’t delay. It’s getting late.” 

It’s getting late, dear reader. Each of us needs to be better. Each of us needs to wake up to the reality that lust is not love, wickedness is not happiness, and a life without Jesus Christ is incomplete. Whether your sin is homosexual or heterosexual sexual immorality, you need repentance either way. 

The fact that “Pride” month is now over can serve as a metaphor. If you’ve suffered from homosexual desires, or if you’ve even acted on your lusts, it was in the past. Today is a new day. Time isn’t over yet. You can change. You can repent. You can turn from darkness to light, from the Adversary to the Lord, from lust to love. Jesus stands with open arms to receive you. He promises cleansing and healing. He promises peace and happiness. He promises eternal rewards, light, and love. Don’t delay. Turn to the Savior Jesus Christ and experience the majesty of God’s perfect love.

Principles of the Declaration of Independence

The Declaration of Independence is America’s first formal law. It is a binding legal document. It is an official pronouncement by the first leaders of our Republic. Not only did the Declaration announce America’s Independence to the world and list our forefathers’ grievances against the British monarchists, but it set forth the basic principles that our confederated Republic is founded upon. It is incumbent upon Americans who value their Freedom, as well as their history, to study this remarkable document. Consider this article a lesson in some of the essential principles of the Declaration.

We will discuss two principles of paramount significance: 1) The truth that our rights come from God; and 2) the reality that political power springs from the People and exists for the purpose of securing their God-given rights.

Perhaps the most prominent principle of the Declaration of Independence is its affirmation that an individual’s rights come from God and cannot justly be taken from him or curtailed. In its first paragraph, the Declaration refers to “the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God.” It elaborates in these terms:

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”

Nature’s God, the Creator of the world, the Lord Jesus Christ, is the source of our “unalienable Rights.” They do not come from man. They do not come from a collective consensus. And they do not come from government. They are not invented by legislative bodies, granted at the pleasure of a president or king, or voted upon. Our rights come from God alone. Alexander Hamilton put it this way:

The sacred rights of mankind are not to be rummaged for, among old parchments, or musty records. They are written, as with a sun beam, in the whole volume of human nature, by the hand of the divinity itself; and can never be erased or obscured by mortal power” (Alexander Hamilton, The Farmer Refuted, February, 1775).

In 1772, Samuel Adams, often referred to as the Father of the Revolution, wrote a document titled “The Rights of the Colonists in which he expounded the very principles we are discussing today:

Among the natural rights of the Colonists are these: First, a right to life; Secondly, to liberty; Thirdly, to property; together with the right to support and defend them in the best manner they can. These are evident branches of, rather than deductions from, the duty of self-preservation, commonly called the first law of nature. . . .

The natural liberty of man is to be free from any superior power on earth, and not to be under the will or legislative authority of man, but only to have the law of nature for his rule. . . .

In short, it is the greatest absurdity to suppose it in the power of one, or any number of men, at the entering into society, to renounce their essential natural rights, or the means of preserving those rights; when the grand end of civil government, from the very nature of its institution, is for the support, protection, and defence of those very rights; the principal of which, as is before observed, are Life, Liberty, and Property. If men, through fear, fraud, or mistake, should in terms renounce or give up any essential natural right, the eternal law of reason and the grand end of society would absolutely vacate such renunciation. The right to freedom being the gift of God Almighty, it is not in the power of man to alienate this gift and voluntarily become a slave.”

Each individual, upon birth, inherits his or her Liberty. Freedom is our birthright! It is the gift of Almighty God. It is an innate endowment and an essential factor in our life’s mission here on earth. This Freedom cannot be justly taken away or limited unless one has forfeited it through their infringement of the equal rights of others. The masterful Thomas Jefferson explained:

[R]ightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will, within the limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add ‘within the limits of the law’; because law is often but the tyrant’s will, and always so when it violates the right of an individual” (Thomas Jefferson to Isaac Tiffany, April 4, 1819).

Only our own misuse of our Liberty can allow it to be taken from us by just laws rightly administered. Unless we violate the “equal rights of others,” the law has no hold on us. Any law that violates our individual rights is, by definition, tyrannical.

Our rights – life, Liberty, the ownership and control of private property, self-defense, privacy, due process, habeas corpus, free speech, discrimination/association, and so forth – come from God Almighty. They are, as Thomas Jefferson wrote in the first draft of the Declaration of Independence, “sacred and undeniable.” Please always remember that your rights are God-given, that they are sacred, and that no just government can deny you your exercise of them.

The second great principle we can glean from the Declaration is that all political power rests in individuals. This power is granted by the People (that is, individuals working together voluntarily) for the specific purpose of protecting their rights. The People have no right nor authority unless an individual has the same right and authority. Working in concert does not suddenly increase authority or negate justice. For instance, if an individual cannot take money from his neighbor and give it to another person, then neither can the group take money (e.g., taxes) from members of the population and give it to others (e.g., welfare, federal education aid, foreign aid). The American People has just as much political power as the weakest individual in society has and no more.

After explaining that our precious rights come from God, the Declaration explains that “to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.” What’s more, the Declaration makes it clear that “whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends [i.e., defending individual rights], it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.”

The purpose of government is to secure our life, Liberty, and property. Frederic Bastiat, writing in his classic text The Law, explained man’s essential rights, the purpose of law and government, and how collective rights are derived only from individual rights:

We hold from God the gift which includes all others. This gift is life — physical, intellectual, and moral life. . . .

Life, faculties, production — in other words, individuality, liberty, property — this is man. And in spite of the cunning of artful political leaders, these three gifts from God precede all human legislation, and are superior to it. Life, liberty, and property do not exist because men have made laws. On the contrary, it was the fact that life, liberty, and property existed beforehand that caused men to make laws in the first place.

What, then, is law? It is the collective organization of the individual right to lawful defense.

Each of us has a natural right — from God — to defend his person, his liberty, and his property. These are the three basic requirements of life, and the preservation of any one of them is completely dependent upon the preservation of the other two. For what are our faculties but the extension of our individuality? And what is property but an extension of our faculties? If every person has the right to defend even by force — his person, his liberty, and his property, then it follows that a group of men have the right to organize and support a common force to protect these rights constantly. Thus the principle of collective right — its reason for existing, its lawfulness — is based on individual right. And the common force that protects this collective right cannot logically have any other purpose or any other mission than that for which it acts as a substitute. Thus, since an individual cannot lawfully use force against the person, liberty, or property of another individual, then the common force — for the same reason — cannot lawfully be used to destroy the person, liberty, or property of individuals or groups. . . .

If this is true, then nothing can be more evident than this: The law is the organization of the natural right of lawful defense. It is the substitution of a common force for individual forces. And this common force is to do only what the individual forces have a natural and lawful right to do: to protect persons, liberties, and properties; to maintain the right of each, and to cause justice to reign over us all.”

When a government exceeds its authority and ceases to fulfill its enumerated purposes, it is not only the right of the People “to alter or to abolish it,” it is a duty. Again, the Declaration informs us:

[M]ankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.”

It is our duty, my fellow freeman, to throw off the shackles of tyranny when evil men slap them on our wrists. And make no mistake – a pattern of tyranny, such as we’ve seen in the United States for decades under both Republican and Democratic administrations, is a clear sign that there is a “design” to “reduce [us] under absolute Despotism.” That is to say, when we see a “long train of abuses,” we know for a surety that they are not mere mistakes or miscalculations, but that there is a conspiracy at work to enslave us.

Two years before he wrote the Declaration, the Sage of Monticello penned a lesser-known document entitled “A Summary View of the Rights of British America.” In it, he succinctly explained:

Single acts of tyranny may be ascribed to the accidental opinion of a day; but a series of oppressions, begun at a distinguished period, and pursued unalterably through every change of ministers, too plainly prove a deliberate and systematical plan of reducing us to slavery.”

We see so many examples of concerted attacks on our Liberty that only one totally uninformed or maliciously complicit can deny them. Republicans and Democrats alike are angling to destroy the Second Amendment’s guarantee of our right of self-defense, violate what little privacy and due process we have left, micromanage what we can and cannot say and publish, steal the remaining wealth they haven’t already stolen, and spill American blood in unconstitutional foreign wars in which we have little to no legitimate interest. When we see this “long train of abuses,” it is our sacred duty to overturn the corrupt laws, oust the oath-breakers, and “provide new Guards” who will honor their oaths to uphold the Constitution and secure our God-given rights.

Never tolerate the violation of your rights by harboring the misguided idea that we owe blind obedience to government at all times and in all things. We do not. We owe obedience only to God, the Constitution as properly interpreted, and just laws that are made in pursuance of the Constitution. Our obedience to these, George Washington said, is “sacredly obligatory upon alland is “the duty of every individual.” However, arbitrary and despotic government merits no allegiance. “We ought to obey God rather than men” (Acts 5:29). Rather, we have a right and a duty to alter or abolish such tyranny and to support a government that secures our rights.

I turn again to the first great principle of the Declaration of Independence; namely, that our rights come from God. It is only by obedience to His divine laws, and through faith on the name of Jesus Christ, that a People can escape the destruction of their Liberty. While we must step forward to safeguard our Freedom, rescue the Constitution, and resist tyranny and conspiratorial machinations, the ultimate remedy for our ailing society is repentance. We must repent, turn our hearts to Christ, and become a righteous and virtuous People once more.

The Holy Bible makes these timeless promises to peoples which serve the Lord:

Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord(Pslam 33:12).

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land” (2 Chronicles 7:14).

Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil. . . .

Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. . . .

And I will restore thy judges as at the first, and thy counsellors as at the beginning: afterward thou shalt be called, The city of righteousness, the faithful city” (Isaiah 1:16, 18, 26).

We must turn to God like our forefathers did. Those extraordinary patriots did not recklessly stumble into the War for Independence. They humbly bowed themselves before their Creator, petitioning Him for strength, and then went to work, having faith that their Lord would be with them and would preserve them in their just struggle. In his memorable speech, Patrick Henry proclaimed:

[W]e are not weak if we make a proper use of those means which the God of nature hath placed in our power. The millions of people, armed in the holy cause of liberty, and in such a country as that which we possess, are invincible by any force which our enemy can send against us. Besides, sir, we shall not fight our battles alone. There is a just God who presides over the destinies of nations, and who will raise up friends to fight our battles for us. The battle, sir, is not to the strong alone; it is to the vigilant, the active, the brave. . . .

. . . I know not what course others may take; but as for me, give me liberty or give me death!”

Surely, the Lord was with our ancestors in their bid for Independence. He presided over their conflict and gave them the victory. God is the true Founding Father of America. At the height of the fighting, General Washington was awed by God’s intervention on America’s behalf and stated:

The hand of Providence has been so conspicuous in all this, that he must be worse than an infidel that lacks faith, and more than wicked, that has not gratitude enough to acknowledge his obligations” (George Washington to Thomas Nelson, August 20, 1778).

The Declaration of Independence concludes with a similar statement of faith to Washington’s and Henry’s. Patriots everywhere know and cherish these iconic words:

And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor.”

If we love our Liberty, then we will follow our patriot-fathers’ example. We will repent, turn to Christ, and walk uprightly. We will honor God’s laws and the principles of the Constitution. We will zealously guard our rights and ensure that our representatives honor their oaths of office and are punished when they do not. If we are freemen, we must act like freemen.

The time is at hand when neutrality is no longer an option. You must choose a side. Stand with your countrymen who are doing their utmost to defend our Faith, Families, and Freedom. Stand with constitutionalists trying to preserve the supreme law of the land and our distinct Americanist system. And fight the good fight at all times, in all ways, and in all places. I close with words from the Father of our Country. Let them echo in your ears and in your hearts from this day forward. God help us restore our Republic!

The time is now near at hand which must probably determine whether Americans are to be freemen or slaves; whether they are to have any property they can call their own; whether their houses and farms are to be pillaged and destroyed, and themselves consigned to a state of wretchedness from which no human efforts will deliver them. The fate of unborn millions will now depend, under God, on the courage and conduct of this army. Our cruel and unrelenting enemy leaves us only the choice of brave resistance, or the most abject submission. We have, therefore, to resolve to conquer or die” (George Washington, address to the Continental Army before the Battle of Long Island, August 27, 1776).
