Today is an incredibly sad day for the little nation of Ireland. In a national referendum, the people of Ireland overturned a ban on abortion, thus legalizing the reprehensible practice. Not only was the ban repealed, but 2/3 of voters – 66.4% – supported the action. What happened to this once Catholic stronghold? Why has Ireland voted against its own future by legalizing the extermination of its unborn? Who spearheaded this vicious assault on the defenseless and innocent? The last question is the easiest to answer and will be the focus of this article.

It almost goes without saying that the feminists were behind this push to repeal the abortion ban. Feminism is the most destructive social trend that has ever existed. The Women’s Liberation movement was founded by the communists for the express purpose of destroying traditional Christian institutions – most importantly the patriarchal family – in an attempt to restructure the world along Marxist lines.

Feminism has done its job well and the world is reeling from the reversal of tried and true (and Biblically-ordained) gender roles. Without hesitation, we can say that no movement has done more damage to the family unit, the institution of marriage, and even the very notion of gender than feminism. Feminism is a veritable plague that has ravished society and infected millions.

Journalists and reporters have acknowledged that this vote was a product of feminist activism. One article gloated:

“The decision is a major victory for Irish feminists, who have been fighting the law since it was introduced in 1983.”

Another journalist stated:

“Ireland’s feminists have been campaigning for a referendum for years – “all my working life”, Orla O’Connor told me.”

A third article explained:

“The vote, held on Friday, is a historic victory for Irish feminists, who had been campaigning for the amendment’s repeal ever since it was passed in 1983. Pro-repeal sentiment was especially strong among young and urban voters, suggesting that a new left-leaning and secular majority had supplanted the more conservative Catholic older generation.”

Mary McAuliffe, a “professor of gender studies” at Dublin’s University College, said:

“Ireland really is, for the most part, a secular state. There is a new generation of women — and men — who are very much influenced by ideas of equality, of feminism.”

Even George Soros, the billionaire activist, has been caught funneling money through Amnesty International in order to influence the vote in favor of repeal. Fortunately, in this case, the transfer of funds was caught and the government of Ireland has ordered the money returned. Unfortunately, it did not matter; the anti-life activists still got their way.

This “new left-leaning and secular majority” was thrilled at the outcome. They literally jumped for joy in the streets. The pictures of cheering and smiling crowds are sickening. What is it that these people are really cheering? They are celebrating their new power to legally murder their offspring. These vile feminists are ecstatic that they can now exterminate their unborn children.

Of course, that’s now how they would describe it. They would use terms like “pro-choice” and “pro-equal rights” to make themselves feel warm and fuzzy. However, the truth is that these feminists are anti-life activists. They are murderers at heart. They are callous and dead inside. They are past feeling and lack love and compassion.

One sickening feminist described her elation at the news:

“My arms began suddenly shivering, strangely and uncomfortably, as soon as I saw the news. I know people say that only happens in stories – but, really, definitely, it happens in real life, too. All the hairs were standing up all over my body and I felt cold, then hot. Then cold. Then really happy.”

Another Irish woman is quoted as saying:

“Basking in my newfound bodily autonomy.”

A third publicly gushed:

“Thank you Ireland for your compassion for women.”

And still another said:

“You are smashing it! What a inspiration to the rest of the world! I’m so happy to see such positive change!”

These reactions come from women devoid of all love, compassion, and feeling. That they are so ecstatic to learn that babies can now be legally snuffed out betrays a deeply disturbed soul and a warped sense of morality. This is the type of enemy we are dealing with – an uncaring, unfeeling, pro-death adversary. It is well to remember the proverb which, speaking for the Lord, says: “[A]ll they that hate me love death” (Proverbs 8:36).

The feminists were able to bring about this vote outcome through a gigantic propaganda campaign. One article explained that some Irish pro-lifers supporting the abortion ban held signs that read: “I am 9 weeks old, I can yawn and kick. Don’t repeal me.” The article said to counter this evidence of life with the emotion-driven feminist war cry of “women’s safety, dignity and right to healthcare.”

Firstly, healthcare isn’t a right. No one owes you healthcare. And no government can give you healthcare unless they steal someone else’s earnings to provide it (i.e. wealth redistribution). This is pure socialism/communism.

Secondly, what about the safety of the unborn child? Feminist are fond of saying “stop policing my body,” yet ignore the fact that they themselves are exercising tyrannical, life-ending control over another person’s body. They are supreme hypocrites. They say “my body, my choice,” but deny their own children the right to life and the right to have protection over their precious little bodies.

In truth, the only choice women have is whether or not to have sex. Sex is a contract and both parties automatically accept the consequences of their decision. In this case, the “consequence” is a human life. After conception and another life comes into existence, it is no longer a woman’s body and, hence, no longer the woman’s choice. It’s the baby’s body; and society must defend their right to live. Said in language even feminists can understand, “Not your body; not your choice.”

Here was Ireland’s prime minister’s revealing reaction to the vote:

“What we have seen today is a culmination of a quiet revolution that has been taking place in Ireland for the past 10 or 20 years.”

Indeed, today’s sad spectacle is the result of a “quiet revolution” – the communist revolution carried out through front groups like the militant homosexuals and the rabid feminists. This was not a spontaneous, organic vote, but the culmination of a carefully orchestrated agenda to destroy the Christian morals of Ireland.

Ireland was once a Christian stronghold – a bastion of moral conservatism. It is no longer a stronghold of good values, Christian morals, or even common sense. Irish Christians have clearly failed to hold their nation in check. They have not kept the enemy outside the gates. The enemy is not only inside the gate, but evidently dominates Ireland. The feminists – dupes of the communists – have conquered the Emerald Isle.

Ireland is only the latest in a long line of countries that have fallen to the international communist conspiracy. Nearly every nation on earth has either a socialist or communist government. Even in the United States all ten planks of The Communist Manifesto have been instituted. These ungodly activists are successfully upending the morals and standards in all nations.

The focus of this assault is the family. The traditional home is public enemy #1. The enemy knows that if it weakens the home, it weakens society. In 1953, Ezra Taft Benson declared:

“No nation ever rises above its homes. This Church will never rise above its homes. We are no better as a people than are our firesides, our homes. . . .

“The good home is the rock foundation, the cornerstone of civilization. It must be preserved. It must be strengthened.”

That statement is as true now as it was in 1953. Feminism is such a deadly virus because it attacks the home directly – and from the inside. Women are the primary carriers of this sinister contagion. Because of relentless feminist indoctrination, women have abandoned their homes and their all-important calling as mothers. They have not only joined men in the workplace, but compete against them. This friction carries over into the home where it poisons everything and destroys the natural love and unity that should reside there.

Under the guise of fighting for so-called “equal rights,” feminist women have been led by the nose and used by the communist cabal to break down the traditional Christian culture that once protected not only the sanity and happiness of society, but its God-given rights. In the era of “Women’s Liberation,” society has deteriorated to such a degree that one can scarcely find an ember of Freedom still glowing. Families are certainly not better off. And both men and women are more depressed and unfulfilled than ever before.

One of the supreme rights assaulted by the feminists is the right to life. Because of selfishness and lust, feminists have sought to destroy that which supposedly burdens them – children. They want to be able to sleep around without consequences. These feminists don’t want to be mothers and become “shackled” to the home (instead, they would rather be shackled to a desk job, possess no power in the workplace, and receive no respect from real men who understand that their crowning calling is to be mothers). They don’t want to be mothers and have real responsibility; they would rather party or play around and have their so-called “independence.” They don’t want to be mothers because they have been indoctrinated with the notion that traditional gender roles are devices the “patriarchy” uses to enslave them and keep them as “second-class citizens.”

The feminist movement is a cancer decimating society. Ireland is the latest nation to fall under its grasp. The only thing the Irish people have chosen to abort is their own future. No nation can long survive when it allows the slaughter of its rising generation. No nation can maintain its self-respect, its decency, its love when it collectively preys on the most innocent segment of society – the unborn. It is a crying shame that once-Catholic Ireland has become so corrupted by communistic influences that it has opted to further destroy its cultural institutions by empowering feminists and giving them carte blanche to exterminate their offspring.

Yes, murdering their own children is what the feminists call “empowerment.” It makes them feel good. It makes them feel strong. It causes them to parade in the streets, cheer, and shout for joy. I ask every sober person, how can we allow this to continue? How can we sanction the wholesale butchery of precious babies fresh from their Heavenly home? It is utter madness. And Ireland, like every other nation that has legalized abortion, is now officially mad.
